Another Use Year Question

Just purchased and passed ROFR on a small HH contract. My intention all along is to slowly do add-ons; as our funds allow. Unfortunately, I am getting a little antsy. My use year is April and the points do not become available until April of 2007. If I called DVC before this years end (2006) and purchased an add-on, does that mean my points would not be available until April of 2007, or, would the points be an April of 2006 use year and I have a vacation to bank points for? I assume I have the option of keeping an April use year even for my add-on. I would think that would be easier to handle, right?

Disney will only sell you points in the same Use Year, unless you purchase a new master contract with a minimum of 150 points. Provided you purchase prior to Apr 1, 2007, you will get Apr '06 points with your purchase.

Okay. Now I understand. For some reason I thought I had to do it before the end of 2006; I just have to do it before April 1st. Thanks for the great information.

Disney gives you current UY points with your purchase. Your Use Year runs from Apr 1 to Mar 31. So if you purchase before Apr 1, 2007, you will still be in your '06 UY so you will get '06 points as soon as you pay your deposit. On/after Apr 1, 2007 you will be in your '07 UY so they would start you off with '07 points. So if you are going to add on soon, it makes sense to do it before Apr 1st to get that extra set of points!
