Another upgrading question

I want to buy a ten day now to make FP+ and upgrade to an AP, but still hoping for some special DVC deal. I talked to disney chat and he said this.

you: If we purchase 10 day tickets and DVC has a special AP offer, can we upgrade?

Pepe: Hello! Happy to see you're planning to come spend time with us! That's a great question. I would recommend contacting DVC Member Services and see if that would be available.

you: Well, the AP offer may or may not happen, just wanted to see if the cost of the 10 day would be applied toward it. You don't know?

Pepe: If you are able to upgrade it, then it would. But we do not know if DVC is allowing guests to upgrade the ticket.

you: Ok thanks.

Pepe: My pleasure!


That tells my nothing. I just don't want to get to disney and find out we need to shell out for the full cost of APs.

I've tried DVC chat but just keep getting this......

Can anyone tell me, if I can upgrade these tickets?

As long as the tickets cost less than the AP, you should have no trouble upgrading them to an AP. If you buy them discounted, you should use them at least once before you upgrade so that they can "bridge" the ticket and you will keep your discount.

Thank you, I'm not worried about any bridging issues, just want to be sure we can upgrade. Thanks for the quick reply.

FWIW, I upgraded my 5 day parkhopper to the DVC PAP special in 2014 and I upgraded my 4 day to a regular DVC AP this year.

Thank you. We have never upgraded before. Last yr I knew we were only do a single trip in a one yr span, but for about 15 yrs we've always got an AP. We didn't go 15 yrs in a row, just bought AP. took a few trips. skipped about a yr and then bought new AP.


Last yr all the talk about some people got refunds on AP when deals came out and then others didn't, I just didn't want to take the chance of buying the AP now.
