Snoopy: Thanks for the Soccer Snoopy and Woodstock and the dancing animal. That was very funny.:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

You're welcome :)

We need to go visit with everybody so we'll either be back on later tonight or tomorrow. Have a good dinner Pix!

Snoopy: Happy Thanksgiving Pix. It was nice to meet you.:cheer2:

Bye! Happy Thanksgiving to you too! :goodvibes

I'm not a fan of spinach but I hope the creamed spinach my bro is making tastes good. :rotfl: My mom used to trick us when we were little and use Popeye to try to influence us to eat it. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Gotta love those little tricks that Mom's use. TTYL!

Good morning, hyenas!
It is still a tad dark here, but getting light; and of course it's overcast.

I spent time yesterday scoping out the Black Friday ads in the paper and online, but didn't find much, certainly nothing to make me want to get out of bed early and fight crowds. Not that I'm sure there are crowds out, from the sounds of it, but I'm sure there are die-hards who are out there.

Our next-door neighbor when I was growing up used to do all her Christmas shopping on Black Friday. ALL of it. She'd go out at the crack of dawn, come back a few hours later and haul bags into her house, then head back out again. This went on most of the day. But hey! One day and she's done! Pretty impressive. ;)

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving yesterday. :)

We went to my ILs. MIL had cooked an enormous turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, green salad, brie and bread, an appetizer of salmon, onion and capers. But turns out MIL was not feeling well, and nearly fainted just before we arrived!

I felt terrible for even being there if she wasn't feeling up to all this, and she kept saying she felt terrible for not being a good hostess. She's had some health problems in the past, so I was worried it was something serious, but they all (she, FIL and her sister) seemed to think it was low blood sugar, so they made her sit and drink sugared OJ and apple juice until she started to perk up. Once she ate she felt much better, thank goodness. Scary!

DS4 was his usual "animated" self, so I was trying to keep him dialed down a bit. The boys love an exercycle the ILs have in their living room, so DS4 hopped on. He can't reach the bars and pedals at the same time, so he stood on the bottom of the frame and grabbed the bars, pulling them back and forth as the pedals spun around. He was having a great time until he realized the ILs' two cockatiels were loose; even though they weren't near him, he flipped out and came to climb me like a tree. :scared1: :rotfl:

Usually the birds are all over FIL and DH, and for some reason one of them likes to get into my hair. I don't mind the birds, but I don't like them getting on my head or near my neck, because the one starts pulling my hair and tangling in it. It kinda freaks me out, so DH always has to come extricate the bird.

But last night they were very subdued and quiet, pretty much sticking to one corner of the living room. Maybe they are afraid of DS4 as much as he is afraid of them? :lmao:

These holidays in the middle of the week completely throw me off! I keep thinking today is Sunday, not Friday.

I keep panicking because of course NOW I'm thinking of all kinds of things I should have done before our trip, which is one week away! I still need to make PSes, and I should have done a majority of my Christmas shopping before now. (I didn't realize that I won't have much time for it once we return.) DH realized he will need to put up lights this weekend or not at all (because he'll be on crutches once we return.) I think he should probably just skip that this year, since he's not going to be able to get back on the roof to take them down until March or something. We always get a real tree, but obviously can't do that until we return, and not sure if we will be able to get one then, because of supply and also how we'd get it set up in our house with DH on crutches... Oy.

DS8 is up now, so guess I'll go see if he wants some breakfast. I'm kinda hungry myself.

Pix, I hope you liked the creamed spinach; how did the rest of the feast turn out? Sam, nice to know you and Snoopy had good time! Staley and G, hope you didn't have to spork anyone! Sometimes that is the best one can hope for. :rotfl2:

Hiya Alex. Maybe the birds were just freaked out because you had a giant cooked bird on the table!:scared1: :rotfl2:

Good Morning Hyenas!

Hope you all had a very nice Thanksgiving.:goodvibes
Mine was pretty laid back. Last night my second son and his family came over, and we played Monopoly, until then grandsons crashed. They ended up spending the night. :cloud9:

Today I need to go out and get a few things. More wrapping paper of all things. :headache:

Hope you all have a good day. :flower3:

Hubby and I braved the black friday crowds and survived to tell the tale. :thumbsup2

We were going to skip it as the games the boys want are just not on sale anywhere. But then we looked at the ads while at my sister's.. spied a deal at Toyr R Us for something we had already got and decided to brave the crowd to get it much cheaper.

Arrived at parking lot, packed and line wrapping around the building. People just starting to go inside. Good timing, parked, short wait and strolled inside. Everyone was kind and waited patiently with no line cutting.

Inside was abit of a mess as we couldn't find the elusive deal thingie that we came to conquer-- it wasn't in the 'cage" are it was in the aisle.. URGH! People and carts jamming the main aisle.
Cruised thru the side aisle, had to skirt around grandma taking up an area (her dd said "stay here" --- but But but you left her in MY way!! grrr. ).
Snagged and bullied back thru to hubby. VICTORY!
That didn't take long.. okay, now to checkout.. look..look.. follow arrows... crap!

Line to checkout snaked thru one side of the store, took us 30 minutes to have our turn.

Ran off to Walmart- meh, wasn't worth the time. What we wanted was sold out already (online too). Picked up two boxes of stove top (tortured the boys later, saying that was their gift, hey it's an improvement over last year's socks) and two flash drives.

Watched people swarm the guy in electronics, snagging plasma TVs .

HOLY COW! Who has over $1000 to shell out on a TV these days??

Got brekfast at McDonald's and cracked jokes about the old lady slow cashier who made a face everytime someone ordered. She would snap at people if they didn't have an easy nothing special order. She growled when hubby ordered a mocha with his breakfast instead of the included drink :scared1:
We almost wanted to switch seats and watch her more... obviously not suited for fast food work but was funny to see what she would do next. :lmao:

Or was it really not that funny and lack of sleep making us weird? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Recharged and away we went.. Target-- it was dead! Found games in clearance rack-- woohooo.

Not tired yet and now we are jacked up on caffeine. Off to Best Buy, could see where people slept the night before. Sign on door "line starts here and goes that way ---> "
I'm not THAT crazy.. it's cold out people! Did I mention one lady at Toys R us looked like she had frostbite on her nose? It was raw and red. OUCH!

This time round, used coupons (duh of course!) and got the games that are not on sale. Ran out out to car and did another round on games that were doorbuster deals. That time hubby got shot down on coupon, I went to same cashier as before and he pushed it through.. woohooo. That was an aweosme deal!

Went home.. my boys were still sleeping. Cat was protesting our absence.. her bowl was empty.
Woke boys up saying.. I got you something!!!

Handed them boxes of stove top. :thumbsup2

I came over to my grandmas house and i went next door to play with my best friend wat were you doing.I am alisons nice goofysnoopy!!:grouphug:

Pix, I hope you liked the creamed spinach; how did the rest of the feast turn out?

Hi Alex :) I didn't eat the creamed spinach. I forgot about it. :lmao: I didn't eat much at all last night. I must have gotten full on those veggies and dip. :rotfl: I did eat a slice of turkey and some stuffing, which turned out great. Mashed potatoes tasted good too. I think my bro and sister made them Paula Deen style. I was nervous at first because Paula Deen loves butter and heavy cream in her dishes. :scared:

We made Pilsbury biscuits and my bro and sister made some wild rice dish but they said it didn't turn out well, so we tossed it.We also tossed the cranberries because she followed a recipe of Alton Brown's. I said the recipe was called TART cranberry sauce. :sad2:  Still it was a funny experience.

My sister brought over a pumpkin cheesecake from Costco but I didn't eat it. My cousins came over last night. They had some family over at their house and they said: "OMG, we had a Thanksgiving meal of Chinese food. Did you guys make American food??" I said yes and they rushed right over. :rotfl2:My bf and I bought Hellboy II on DVD and hadn't watched it yet. I watched it with my siblings and my cousin and we were all laughing. It's a good movie but not suitable for kids (it may scare them). My cousins were forced to bring their relative's son over and he's only 11 or 12 years old. He kept staring at the TV and then would get scared and ran away to the study. Then he kept peeking at the TV from around the corner, got scared again and ran away. :rotfl2: I told him that if it's scary he shouldn't watch it. I didn't want him to get nightmares. I think the reason Hellboy 2 may scare children is because the monsters are similar to ones seen in Pan's Labyrinth (I think it was the same director).

My bf had to work yesterday but he got to come home a bit earlier than usual. He rushed and watched Fringe (recorded it earlier this week). We had a good Thanksgiving though.

I'm at my parents house right now. My siblings cooked breakfast and 2 of my cousins are coming over. I hope you hyenas have a good day!

Oh and tomorrow I'm going to DL with my bf. I was able to make a PS for Blue Bayou. Yay!! I've been craving dole whip floats like a mad woman! :scared1: :rotfl:

Hello. So who got up early and went shopping? Not me. I wanted to but I was too tired. I have not done any shopping yet.

Had to make an emergency run to Cabelas today.:lmao: Went into the bargain cave and found a pair of women's waders just my size for $100! Not just any waders, very nice, normally very expensive waders.  Also got new wading boots, net and a nice assortment of 35 flies. But they are my Christmas present, so I have to put them away for a few weeks.

Had to drive 1-1/2 hours each way to get to Cabelas so spent most of the day in the car. But we took friends with us and had a nice time, then went to Megan's famous Ram for lunch.:thumbsup2 Although I have to say they obviously specialize in burgers, not seafood. I had salmon, it was ok, but not great. There burgers are awesome, should have just stuck with a burger.

DD wanted to go shopping, but I have some really good coupons that are good next weekend. So we are going to try and make an appointment for pedicures and go shopping next weekend.:thumbsup2

Geesh where is everybody today? Laying on the couch stuffed full of food?:rotfl:
