I put in six thighs, and they had to stack on top of one another. (They were frozen together by threes, but even without that, I still would have had to have two layers.)
Alex, I usually use 8- 10 thighs in layers, and 4 hours is almost too much time. But I just had a thought. I also use deboned and skinless thighs from Costco. That could make a difference on time. And maybe my crockpot cooks hot?

That's the one I have!

Aw Megan...........Don't ya love the natural floatation devices that we were adorned with naturally? :rotfl:

:lmao: :lmao: They are just LOVELY! At least my bely holds them up for me right now. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I have the same oval one and yes it does cook on the high side for temps compared to the older models. Good in some ways, but if you want to fix it and cook all day.. eeek! It won't work. :sad2:

I can do boneless chicken from frozen on low, done in 4 hours. If I leave it in longer it's to shreddable consistency - which is usually what I want anyway.

Exactly. That is why I said 3-4 hours.

Sorry Alex!!

I almost want to pick up an old smaller model at a thrift store or rummage sale.
Sometimes what I make doesn't fill it even half way, allowing juices to scorch and stick on the sides.

Then agian.. it's one more big thing to put in a postage stamp sized kitchen :lmao:

E had his first day of work :goodvibes
He put down the rules and said "we can do experiments, but only if I have your cooperation. You choose not to follow rules.. you don't get to do anything but hear me talk and write notes, and I like to hear my voice." :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Prinicipal is still battling with HR, so no contract. Bit worrisome to be offered a job when the pervious teacher is still assigned that position.

Not sure what happened. This is what we know.. previous teacher is on a leave of absence. Left all her stuff in the desk/ room. They assigned a long term sub, but he wasn't a qualified science teacher. Long term sub basically babysat the room and had them do cornell notes based on articles printed from internet. One grading period competed so far - nothing being taught.

Here comes hubby on the scene, told we have this job for you . He mentions to the long term sub that he will be the new teacher (unaware what the heck is happening). Sub gets ticked, sub expected to stay the rest of the year.

Now hubby is in limbo as a teacher but not.. no contract.. no benefits.. :headache:

We discussed and decided he can stick out for a week or two, from there he HAS to have a contract . Otherwise it will screw up his medical coverage.
(or at least we think that is true, that's another headache... )

so umm he has a job.. but not.

Yes, I'm sure bone-in requires longer cooking, so that makes sense, too. I just cooked it an additional hour and it came out just fine. :)

I liked it, DH loved it, the boys turned their noses up. Ah well, can't please everyone. I didn't really taste the pepper, so I checked the recipe, and I think I didn't put as much in as you said. So next time I'll make sure to "kick it up a notch"!

oh, and all the kids cheered when they heard the sub was gone. :rotfl:

E said you can tell they want to learn something. Eager to dig into a Foss kit (inquiry based, hands on learning. No book used in this district for Science) rather than sit and be bored for a whole class period.

Oy... Stressful. I hope it works out. Shoot.... I know it will!

That does seem a pretty crappy way to give someone a job! Why didn't they at least ditch the sub last week? And the teacher (tenured) is unaware she's being replaced? :confused3

I think you're right to get that contract ASAP. Your poor DH! He shouldn't have to deal with the mess someone else created. :sad2:

That was nutty! Your post had NOTHING in it when I first saw it; then Tinkermell quoted you, and HER post had nothing in it, either! After I posted mine, yours suddenly had the kissy-face, and hers had the ROFL smilie. :lmao:

Hey, do you know if you have a temporary sort of disability (like DH's bum knee), can you get a GAC (guest assistance card)? I would think it would help DH if he did less walking/standing than necessary. But I'm not sure how disabled, or how you'd prove it, to get something like that. :confused3

Tell him to go for the scooter. I felt kind of stupid getting it, like I really wasn't that disabled...but it was so worth it.:thumbsup2

Make sure to bring a towel or something to cover the seat- it gets hot!
Poor Alison was frying her legs last spring. :scared:

Geez, and the whole time I thought that was just a bacon double cheeseburger that I kept smelling at DL.:lmao:

I do have a big crockpot, and even if my thighs are frozen, I still try to take them apart.

This is just classic Tag Fairy material.:rotfl2: :thumbsup2
