This is just classic Tag Fairy material.:rotfl2: :thumbsup2
It's true! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I will see if I can get him to get the scooter, but it isn't going to be easy. Unless I can convince him just how miserable he'll be without it, he just won't. He doesn't like to complain, doesn't like to be helpless; in short, he's a man. So he'd rather eat glass than admit he needs a scooter.

That does seem a pretty crappy way to give someone a job! Why didn't they at least ditch the sub last week? And the teacher (tenured) is unaware she's being replaced? :confused3

I think you're right to get that contract ASAP. Your poor DH! He shouldn't have to deal with the mess someone else created. :sad2:

Exactly.
He heard the previous teacher had taught at high school level before, was not a "good fit" for middle school. He's not even sure how long the teacher was in classroom before she left.

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Either way, it' s a crappy situation for the students who were told "I'm your teacher" three times in one grade period. Students who may already have instances of abandonment in their family life. School should be a safe haven for them.

That was nutty! Your post had NOTHING in it when I first saw it; then Tinkermell quoted you, and HER post had nothing in it, either! After I posted mine, yours suddenly had the kissy-face, and hers had the ROFL smilie. :lmao:
:lmao: I was wondering why you had the question smiley.. :lmao:

I almost want to pick up an old smaller model at a thrift store or rummage sale.
Sometimes what I make doesn't fill it even half way, allowing juices to scorch and stick on the sides.

Then agian.. it's one more big thing to put in a postage stamp sized kitchen :lmao:

E had his first day of work :goodvibes
He put down the rules and said "we can do experiments, but only if I have your cooperation. You choose not to follow rules.. you don't get to do anything but hear me talk and write notes, and I like to hear my voice." :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Prinicipal is still battling with HR, so no contract. Bit worrisome to be offered a job when the pervious teacher is still assigned that position.

Not sure what happened. This is what we know.. previous teacher is on a leave of absence. Left all her stuff in the desk/ room. They assigned a long term sub, but he wasn't a qualified science teacher. Long term sub basically babysat the room and had them do cornell notes based on articles printed from internet. One grading period competed so far - nothing being taught.

Here comes hubby on the scene, told we have this job for you . He mentions to the long term sub that he will be the new teacher (unaware what the heck is happening). Sub gets ticked, sub expected to stay the rest of the year.

Now hubby is in limbo as a teacher but not.. no contract.. no benefits.. :headache:

We discussed and decided he can stick out for a week or two, from there he HAS to have a contract . Otherwise it will screw up his medical coverage.
(or at least we think that is true, that's another headache... )

so umm he has a job.. but not.
Sounds like he is off to a good start with the kids!:thumbsup2

I hope the school gets everything under control and fixed with all of the X teachers mucho fast!!! :headache:

In the meantime he is working, and that is a good thing.:goodvibes Hopefully medical stuff won't get messed up!

I know the feeling! I had a hard time standing in that scooter line. If he won't get one, then you should get one. Then when he needs it, it's there for him. You don't have to prove you're disabled to rent one. Once I found out how much it helped, then I was all for it! Just that first time is a little hard on the pride. And I have to say it is really nice being able to go around all those loooooong lines.:thumbsup2

Haven't had a sig line worthy quip for awhile, thanks Melody.. and Alison for pointing it out ;)

We had something like that happen in jr. high (Washington state history.) I think the history teacher quit right before the school year began, so first we had the science teacher filling in. He was a good science teacher, but I think he got frustrated with his own lack of knowledge on state history and all the catch-up he was having to do just to create lesson plans. After a few weeks we had the 8th grade (U.S.) history teacher filling in, though she already had a full plate with her own usual classes. I think we finally wound up with yet another history teacher, and he just wasn't very good. I don't think we really learned anything that year. It's not a good situation, and I feel for those students.

eeeek, holiday is coming...

You'd better watch out, you'd better not cry, you'd better not pout, I'm telling you why...Albort Claus is coming to town!

Exactly.

Heck I was hoping my science and math teachers would leave during the year.:rotfl2: But seriously though I can understand how kids with an unstable family life really do need that stability at school.

So I got online Friday and it showed that my Wii had shipped, even gives a UPS tracking number, says it's shipped and currently somewhere in Illinois, should arrive on 11/20. Today I get a postcard in the mail, postmarked Friday, says my Wii is on backorder and won't be shipped for 2-3 weeks. :confused3

Crazy..

Has everyone finally found him?:lmao:
Not me! He claimed to be unfindable, because he was re-stocking and/or closing up carts at the end of the night. After stalking several cart CMs (and scaring the bajeebies out of one poor guy!) I never did find Albort. :lmao:
