Oh and put a sign on the door...students entering this door during class hours will be considered part of my class and will be required to attend the entire hour! That ought to keep them out!
Oh and a poster for the wall...students are required to stay seated during class. If you are out of your seat, goofing off I will assume you have learned to overcome the force of gravity and will expect a two page paper discussing gravity turned in the next day.
Thank you for not swearing in our classroom. Students heard swearing will be required to hand in a 2 page paper discussing how vocal cords work.
These are great tips!
Honestly, some of my favorite teachers (especially in junior high) were the hardest, toughest teachers. They expected your best, and if you didn't give it, they let you know it, and gave you a second chance to try again. They seemed to be the ones that cared the most about each kid, too, regardless of their abilities. They really wanted the best that each kid had to offer.
It's just so HUGE compared to the metro area here where we can drive from a north suburb to a south suburb in less than 40 minutes. And yes, we measure distance by time. I know.. I know..it's weird.
That's the way we do it here, too. We measure distance in time, so a conversation goes something like this:
Visitor: How far is it to SeaTac Airport?
Native: From here?
Visitor: Yeah.
Native: What time?
Visitor: What? What do you mean what time?
Native: What time will you be leaving here?
Visitor: Uhhhh, I need to be at the airport by 4:00.
Native: Oh, then you need to leave by 3:00 at the latest. Unless there's more than one of you traveling, then you can shave about 20 minutes off the time. (HOV lane)
Visitor: Well, I was thinking of doing a little shopping at the airport, maybe I should leave at 1:00.
Native: Oh, then you would be there about 1:20, you'd have lots of time to shop...
It's uper easy.
Put about 8- 10 chicken thighs into crockpot. Mix together about a cup of apricot jam, one envelope of Lipton onion soup mix, one can of drained pineapple tidbits or chunks, and about 1/4 cup of reserved liquid. I also add some crushed red pepper for some bam. 1/2 teaspoon? Pour over the chicken. I usually cook the frozen chicken thighs for about 3- 4 hours. Thawed I don't know.

At the end, thicken the juice with some cornstarch. Usually about 2-3 tablespoons to 1/4 cup of water. Mix into the sauce, and let thicken. Serve over the rice.
Yummy!!
My 15 DD loves this recipe. And it is so easy!!!
That does sound yummy! I'm going to write that one down, too!
Last week I made this similar-flavors recipe with chicken and cut up dried apricots. It was OK, but kinda bland. I bet this one would be a lot more flavorful! I'm going to try it out!
Just me. You?
