We finally got snow.. a little at a time over several days.

I had to retire my Crocs.. holey shoes and snow do not mix :guilty:
I have a pair of Crocs that are made for winter weather, no holes, snuggier fit in the heel and a good size toe cap :goodvibes They have suede on the top, a tiny bit tight-- need to stretch them a tad.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Yep - snow and crocs don't mix. I had to order me a pair of boots before the snow hit. Sadly, I sent an email to my mom (she has lived in the Phoenix area her whole life) telling her that I had bought boots. She was shocked and appalled, and asked why the heck I needed cowboy boots :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: . Crazy woman couldn't fathom the fact that I could need snow boots :rotfl2:

Nice Pics. DH and I (before we were DH and I) went to the Mall of America long long time ago - 1996 maybe - for the College National Speech and Debate Tournament. We got to spend a day at the Mall of America - but I swear if I remember right it was snoopy then :confused3

:lmao:

I don't own any boots. I don't think any of us do right now.

Living in the city it's not really necessary unless you plan to do some playing in the snow or walking long distance in suburbia (no sidewalks) .

I should get some for N, he's still young enough to enjoy snow.
J would sneer if I suggested boots, heck he won't even wear a winter coat yet.. grrrr. Darn teenager!

I do have horrible memories of the water log ride. I got stuck in the front, of a rather well packed stuffed log. And it was I believe a -12 windchill outside. Needless to say gravity worked as I assumed and I was SOAKED from head to toe. DH and I spent the next little while trying to find me clothes (but I am such an odd size, shopping for me is extremely difficult)

:lmao: The kids love their boots - granted they spent about an hour this morning playing in the snow (they have a snow day)

I really dislike cold wet feet - so boots are a must for me. That, and one of our favorite pastimes.....(no laughing here) is going in our backyard out the gate which puts us at the national forest. Then we follow the critter tracks made in the snow :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Yes it was snoopy.
hmmm 1996.. I had two kids. :lmao:
The change over from Knott's Camp Snoopy to "Park at the Mall" was two years ago..They had to paint out all the Snoopy pictures. Kite eating tree with no Linus, just kites and blobby green shapes where he use to be. They had a ginat Snoopy bounce house, lopped off snoopy and just had the base for awhile.
Nickleodeon changeover was last year.

Rotunda sponsored by Best Buy, right now they have a special event.. a complete house built in the rotunda. Collecting funds for Habitat for Humanity, showcasing "green" building and products by various companies.
They usually do this in spring.
Other events include... concerts, fashion shows, Pokemon, video arcade playoffs, Yu-Gi-Oh play offs, runway competition... They've also had Rainbow system playground set up .. pay donation fee and can play. If you ever watched the Arnold Schwazenegar movie Jinge All the Way ,where he is running thru a ball pit/ playground inside a mall (trying to get an elusive hero action figure for his son), it was shot at Mall of America in the spring.

LEGO Imagination Center, the first one built in the US. The clock use to work.. sadly it doesn't anymore. It had music and various parts that moved and it would strike the hour with lots of "bongs" and whistles. They had buttons on the front for kids to push and make things twirl or sounds. When my sis was manager, they hired a crew to clean the upper displays on a regular basis. Play area was staffed at all times and kept spotlessly clean.. product on shelf was perfect condition-- no mooshed or dusty boxes.. it's NOT the same store anymore. Not just because a change of manager, things changed within the compnay itself-- cheaped out a good quality product.

I am glad to hear that I am not crazy, and that Snoopy was there. :rotfl2: I guess though in 12 years you would expect some changes :rotfl:

You do realize you are torturing me - the closest mall - any mall, even a little tiny mall is three hours away :faint: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Good Morning Hyenas!

I hope you all are doing well. I've been a little busy these past few days. I haven't had a chance to catch up on the thread.

Last night I went to Downtown Disney. I heard that DL closed the park at 6pm (and they will do that again tonight) for the CM Christmas parties. Albort- did you go? Sounds like fun! :yay:

I text messaged Alex and just said I was in DTD and hoped that she was having a good trip. I don't know if she got the message or not. :confused3

Downtown Disney was packed and all the restaraunts were packed, due to the park closing early. I was craving spaghetti from Storyteller's but when I got there it was packed. I decided to skp it and went to the gift shop at GCH and then headed home.

I just had to exchange some clothes that turned out to be too long or too big. I did score a cute handbag that is white and has Mickey's on it (I will upload a pic later) and a cute Mickey scarf. I'm not sure why but I love scarves and it's fun to wear during the winter time. Especially since it's become a bit windy and chilly recently (no more 80 degree heat!!). World of Disney was packed and all the registers were busy. I paid for my items in the pins/jewelry section and the line moved rather quickly.

I parked in the DTD parking area. It was a lot faster than going through the parking structure (there was an insanely long line to exit the structure when I exited the 5fwy on the way there). On the way home I noticed that there was a traffic jam to get on the 5fwy (leaving the parking structure and DTD). I turned right at the traffic light and saw that the traffic jam was due to the traffic lights being broken. :sad2: I turned right at the light and got on the 5fwy at the next street (which saved me time and frustration).

My bf and I watched Bolt in 3D on Sunday. It was a lot better than what we expected and it was actually really cute and funny. You guys should go see it. :goodvibes:

Hope you all have a good day. :grouphug:

See that is why we have skyways into the parking ramp.
DSCN0891_edited.jpg

I had to explain to the boys that skyways may be an oddity to other people. It's a MUST in our are of course.. we have a huge skyway system downtown Minneapolis.. no need to go outside for most of downtown. You can even park in a heated garage. :thumbsup2

Hey Pix!

ahh, I DO NOT miss the traffic in California.
Hubby can come home during his lunch/ prep.. takes him 8 minutes with no traffic... 15 if it's rush. And that's on the highway not surface streets. :thumbsup2

awwww, you poor deprived woman... I wouldn't survive. Online shopping is fun, but it doesn't replace window shopping at the mall.

Hey Pix :goodvibes

We saw Bolt too - granted we don't get it in 3D up here. Very cute and funny :yay:

Hi Bernice! Hi Dizzy!! How are you guys?

Bolt made me teary-eyed at one part but it was definitely funny :teeth: It was really cute :) Makes me wish I had a dog :( We watched it at AMC Theatre and they had it in 3-D. The cost is $1-2 more than the normal ticket price but it's a cool experience. :goodvibes

Stores.. new one Ruehle.. a series of small rooms, easy to lose family, lots of rugs on the floor (not taped down-- I nearly face planted in one area). At least they had "real clothes" .
DSCN0907_edited.jpg

And newly opened Gilly Hick's of Sydney.. basically an underwear store for anorexic sized, chestless young women. Another series of extremely ill lit, dark rooms, tiny tiny rooms that no way a wheel chair could fit thru.
Butt floss hanging on wooden pegs on the walls.. every color of the rainbow.. and a few that are not of the rainbow. A room that had shelves of bras perfectly on display-- reminded of showcasing fine wines in wine cellar.. it was weird.. the lady out front told me "no pictures" .. ha aha too late.. I took pics inside. pfffffffft.

Bars on 4th floor, movie theatre with upgrade service of plush seating and a personal valet to bring you wine or a blanket.

College, alternative high school, church, walk in clinic, teeth whitening (bizarre IMO), wine store, cheese store, at one time they had one of those dish and pack your own food places for family meals.

The local tribes are itching to be part of a proposed addition... to build a casino and hotel.
