Another Tipping Question

Just wondering if you tip Mousekeeping the day you arrive? What about the day you leave?

We are doing a split stay in February -arriving AKL Monday mid-day, staying until Thursday. We will leave 1st thing Thursday morning and go to the Parks. We will then be going back to the Poly Thursday evening until Sunday morning. I am just wondering what I should do about the Mousekeeping tip on the MOnday we arrive, the Thursday we switch and the Sunday we leave?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I do not tip Mousekeeping on the day that we arrive unless I have asked for something special from them. Otherwise, I leave my first tip the next morning as we go out for the day. I leave a tip every morning. I would leave a tip for the AKL Mousekeepers on Thursday before you leave. Then I would leave a tip for the Poly Mousekeepers on Friday morning and so forth with the last tip on Sunday before you leave. I know that there has been much discussion about tipping the hotel maids, pro and con, but this is what I would do. As a matter of fact, we will be splitting our stay soon between the WL and AKL and will be doing our tips as I have suggested.

I agree with christianweecare. I don't tip on the day of arrival, but I would make sure to leave a tip on the day you checkout. I also left a note for our mousekeeper on our last trip telling her how much we appreciated all the fun things she did in the rooms with the kids stuffed animals and thanking her for all of the extra touches she gave us. I think it helps to let the mousekeepers know how much they are appreciated.
