Another Ticket Question

First off, I already have a 5 day park hopper plus for myself, and as I've confirmed in another thread, if I wanted to I could upgrade it to a 6 day PHP at Guest Services at one of the parks.

HOWEVER, I am expecting a friend to join me for one day later in the week at only one park, and I was planning on buying a single day admission for him.

My dilemma is this:

I just found out about the 2day/2park pass for approx. $105. A single day ticket for him would be $55, and I believe based on what I paid for the 5 day PHP (it was discounted via Disney Club), I will pay more than $50 for the upgrade.

Should I (A) Upgrade to the 6 day regardless of cost and still get a single day pass for him, or (B) Stick with my 5 day PHP and split the 2 day/2 park pass between us, so he uses one day and I use the other (and furthermore, can we even do that, since we'd be using it on different days of the week?)

[Though I would find a way to use the extra "plus option," it will not be a deciding factor in my choice.]

Help! (and thanks) :)

Jon

2 day/2 park pass for $105....is tht new...never heard of it. SOunds like something I need. Where can I find out more about it?

I'm not asking about policy, I'm asking about practice.

Since their policy is also "unused days never expire," Disney is automatically opening themselves up to sharing of tickets, because there's no way of knowing years later who had the original ticket.

For crying out loud they don't even put individual names on the fronts of their own resort key passes.

If I go to the MK on Sunday, and he goes to the MK on Friday, we will actually both be admitted to the parks, right? Or are they asking for photo ID now in addition to searching bags?

Yeah it may be the policy but it still happens. Look on Ebay.

They don't check ids..it would take forever to get in if they did. They are not losing any money....a day is still a day no matter who uses it.

No, they don't ask for photo id's (generally) and I am not going to touch the sharing of passes. But, for the record, I see absolutely nothing wrong with it.

One of the questions was "can we even do that?", which I interpreted as "are we allowed to do that?". Like or not, the answer is technically no.

You won't have to worry about photo ids on that type of pass, so if you feel comfortable sharing the pass you shouldn't have any problems. I have heard of people being asked "when was the last time you used this pass" by CMs at the gate.

To me, it's pretty much even.

A single-day ticket for your friend will be $55. An upgrade to a 6-day PHP for you will cost an additional $50+. Total spent $105+.

A 2day/2park pass would cost $105, with no need for you to upgrade your 5-day PHP.

I don't see the advantage of the second scenario. To save a maybe a couple bucks, you limit yourself on one day to no park hopping (the 2day/2park pass is a non-hopper). And the second day of that pass must be used within 7 days of the first use.

Unless money is realllly tight, I would just upgrade the PHP to 6 days and let my friend get the single-day pass for $55.
