another ticket price increase? really?

ummm...Tower of Terror, Everest, RnR, Test Track, Kali Rapids, Dinosouar...leap to mind they need to make each park with more than two thrill rides for each park if they want us to pay to go to each park.

I use to love Disney but, quite frankly they need to put their money into some E-ticket rides.
I can not wait to ride the new Gringotts or Transformer ride of Universal and Yes, HP totally gives Disney a run for their Money. I actually enjoyed all the theming of Universal's Island's of Adventure park not just HP. :thumbsup2

I would not expect to see over the top major thrill rides at WDW. Its not what Disney in about and thankfully so.
AKK

Agreed. :thumbsup2

And I really don't think you can compare Disney to Universal other than to say they are both theme parks in Central FL. They are not equal experiences so there is no way to compare them financially.

Personally, I really like some of the rides at IoA (haven't been to the other side in so long I can't remember it), but I am ready to leave by the afternoon. I am at a point in my life where I would rather soak in the atmosphere and enjoy fun relaxing attractions than run from one coaster to the next until my head hurts.

I hear Legoland is nice, should we compare those prices as well?

I don't know if that $128.00 figure included tax.

Either way it shows UNI right up there, give or take a few dollars.

Not to mention that is a 4 park option, not 2.

AKK

It's $136.32 for a one day, two park ticket at Universal. that's with tax.
Then, if you want their express pass, it depends on the day how much it'll cost you:

Non-Peak, per day: Adult $179.99 / Child $168.99
Standard, per day: Adult $204.99 / Child $193.99
Peak, per day: Adult $219.99 / Child $208.99
Holiday, per day: Adult $229.99 / Child $219.99

All of those prices are pre-tax.

Outrageous! twice in one year,no new teen/adult rides (no I do not count FL as a ride) I am underwhelmed with the FL expansion, hate the FP+ tier, my "Disney adult" kids...I could go on an on. I am going this year because we are being treated by a family member for our stay. However, will not be back for quite awhile. Our next FL trip will be a cruise, sea world, discovery cove and Universal trip. I have gone to Disney the last 6 years and can say I am officially turned completely off by Disney's money grubbing. Outrageously priced food, crappy quality souvies and overpriced hotels. Dear Disney, the Next Gen for my family is other vacation destinations and we are taking our dollars with us. Maybe in 10 years you will have some real thrill rides, have updated parks and fixed the fast pass + disaster. Then we may be back...or not, we may have found another destination spot we love...as of now we are seriously not that into you anymore.

Don't hold back, now. Let it out. Tell us how you really feel. :rotfl:

And I have NEVER seen Celine tix for discount. Like Disney, she can pack a full house nightly and charge people what she wants....they will pay. :)

FWIW - a co-worker of mine (DCW?) just got back from a week in Vegas, saw Celine Dion, and said her show was FABULOUS!!! Worth every penny.

I asked her, to use as a point of comparison, how many songs she got to hear. She couldn't remember, but said the show was like 2.5 hours long.

Agreed. :thumbsup2

I totally agree!

I remember the real Universal Studios tour in California!. with the original streets with the TV and movie sets, the real sound stages , the steamboat from the movies and the early TV show &Riverboat* and the lake cut where the parting of the red sea was staged for the 10 commandments. really so much more. now that was a studio park, even without the rides that have replaced all the real studio attractions.

As to prices..........I believe the WDW and classic Disney is worth the price raises to cover inflation and all the extras of just being on property, even just to visit. The many choices in the 16 hotels, unique theming, golf courses, 4 parks, 2 water parks, campground, boats, monorails, balloon rides, horse back and many, many other smaller attractions. Many of these attractions are free to explore and try, and are covered partially by parks tickets.

just my opinion, but folks tend to forget the whole WDW and think only the e rides in the parks . The e rides and Disney has soooo many, are important and great, however,WDW is so much more then e rides.

DAM! over $200.00 a day...................I am not a big fan of FP+, but those folks complaining had better take a look at those prices!.

Those prices are the Park to Park ticket plus UNLIMITED EXPRESS PASS. You can get the normal express starting at $36. The $179.99 includes the park to park ticket AND the UNLIMITED express pass.

Seems to me it makes staying in one of Universal's Deluxe resorts worth every penny since it's included.:thumbsup2

WRONG! Please try again.:thumbsup2

For someone who just posted wrong pricing info just one page ago, you probably could be a little nicer. ;)

Actually I may be wrong again!:rotfl: Dammit...:)

Edit...nope I am right. In my defense, I was off by $30 or so bucks...not $180 to $220. :) I can book one night onsite there for $200 (usually much less with my AP) and get TWO days of unlimited express pass.....seems like a deal to me.

Thanks. I have never looked at Uni pricing, so don't have any idea what is even remotely in the ballpark for them. :)

So the above pricing is $180 off? Are the tickets free?

The poster was mistaken when they said you had to pay $136 and an additional minimum price of $180 for the express pass. The $180 includes a 2 park ticket AND unlimited express pass.

I could buy (2) adult 3 day park to park Universal tickets for $294 tax included. The same tickets (3 day park hopper) at Disney is $688 tax included. With that difference in price I could book one night at a Universal hotel (and still have money left over) and get two days of Unlimited Express Pass included.

That's misleading. Yes, those are express pass prices but those are unlimited (which means any ride any time however many times you want) express passes INCLUDING your parkhopper admission price as well.

Go here for more information on tickets and express passes. You'll need to actually go into the calendar to find prices for different days, since they vary according to crowd expectation.

I didn't read all the posts so I apologize if this has already been said.

People around here are complaining that parks are too crowded leading to long wait times and the eliminating of some FP perks however they are now also complaining that Disney is raising their prices which is the only real way to combat overcrowding of their parks.

What do you really want Disney to do? This is supply and demand and when demand is too high (i.e. overcrowding) then you raise prices to bring supply down and find the equilibrium.

Everybody is comparing the Disney of today vs. their memories of Disney from a few years ago but other people have seen the value and theme park admissions continue to climb. So Disney can either allow the parks to get more and more crowded or raise prices. Since Disney is a business it isn't surprising that they will try and raise prices to get the parks back to that sweet equilibrium.

----Edit----

Looking at this chart you can see Disney has had to battle overcrowding at the park. They have risen their prices significantly over the last five years (after inflation) yet attendance continues to go up. This means that it is under-priced.

uhmmm, I hardly think Disney is raising prices to cut down on overcrowding:confused3 ... Disney wants the parks crowded... the more crowded the more money they make

Agree Disney is sooo much more than e rides. Leave the thrill rides for the universal/six flags of the world. Frankly it's embarrassing people compare any park to WDW resort complex! There was a good reason universal built so close to Disney ........to get their runoff :rotfl They are purely second class to the Mouse House:wizard: Yes you can have some fun there but it is as far removed from the Magic of Disney as any "theme" park could be.
