I'm hoping someone can shed some insight on this. I have been flying SW for years. When the fares have dropped, I've either gotten a credit for future flights or a few times they generously credited my credit card. I've really never had a problem.
I noticed this morning our fares finally dropped. Unfortunately, the departing flight shows up unavailable so I cannot just cancel and rebook the entire trip. In the past, SW has still given me the credit on the departing flight without any problems that I can recall. In fact, I recall a conversation where someone there told me "You already have seats on the flight, it doesn't matter if they know show unavailable".
I called this morning and they tell me they cannot do anything. I'm confused. Did something change? Their reason is simplying because the flight is unavailable at that rate.
I'd appreciate any help. It only dropped $80 in total so I'm not too bummed. However, to have $80 for another flight is always a good thing!
Thanks.
Michele
