Another RNRC question from a ride chicken

I get nervous just thinking about going on RNRC but I also really really really want to do it. If I could just walk right on it that would be ideal, but I know that won't happen. When is the best time of day to have the shortest wait time possible? (The longer I wait, the more my anxiety will go up and the less likely I'll actually get on and do it.) Should I try to go as soon as the park opens? Is there a good time of day?

I stepped outside of my comfort zone last year and did BTMRR and was totally fine with it. I thought it was very tame. I love the to go fast (the fast portion of TestTrack is so fun!) but I don't like drops at all! I don't know about going upside down.... if I won't leave me nauseated then I'm willing to try.

Go first thing in the am. I would pick a day other than EMH because RnR and ToT fill up so fast. This is a smooth coaster, and it doesn't have any big drops. The first time I rode it I really couldn't tell I was being inverted. I would probably decline the last seats, as you see what the coaster is doing ahead of you.

Good luck--let us know how it goes!

Get to the park at rope drop and head straight to RNR and you should be able to walk on. I have to admit that thr RNR in Paris is one of the few rides that is slightly better than its Florida counterpart.

I am a big chicken when it comes to rides also but I have decided that during our next visit, I will suck it up and ride the RNRC. I have ridden space moutain before, it wasn't that bad, and I have ridden the georgia cyclone at six flags over georgia, it had some big drops, but was a wooden coaster so it was very rickety feeling and my neck hurt after it was over. My dh says RNRC is a very smooth ride so I think I will try it out for my first upside down ride experience. I 've also never ridden the Test track, what is it like explained to a ride chicken??
thanks,
Kim

Also, does the RnRc keep the takeoff speed or does it slow down after the takeoff??

Here is a response from a RIDE chaicken...

I went on Tower of Terror on my first trip with my DH(his favorite thus far) and right after we went on RnR...I was terrified on ToT and felt very ill afterwards and had to wait 30 minutes to feel well enough for RnR...

It is very smooth and it's over before you know it. I did not even realize I was upside down 3 times till I asked DH afterwards and he confirmed it.... It is not as tame as Big Thunder (my favorite ride ever) but it is pretty good for us chickens.

Just a side note, I will not do ToT anymore but I will do RnR...I chickened out of Mission:Space too...I have to do that next time.

Hope this helped.

I was a BIG CHICKEN and I rode RNRC this time!!!

The worst part of the ride was the anxiety leading up to the initial takeoff. I was clutching the handles as hard as I could waiting for that takeoff. I didnt really notice the inversions until my face hit the side of the support. LOL

It was SO MUCH FUN! I want to do it again - and I am a BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG CHICKEN!!! This was my FIRST upside down coaster and I am 34 years old!!!

GO ON IT! We went early in the AM.

From a former ride chicken (I still have my moments now and then)...

I loved the RNRC!! As long as you can handle the speed, you should be fine. I think it's much easier to do loops on roller coasters than drops. You honestly can barely tell that you are in a loop if your eyes are closed. They are much easier on the stomach. Also, here's a hint on rides with drops like ToT. Take a deep breath just before it's going to drop and exhale hard as you are dropping. You won't feel the drop as much in your stomach.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Miniefan, Test Track is a piece of cake. My DH, a BIG ride chicken, was convinced it was a roller coaster. I dogged him enough that he finally tried it, and now it's his favorite! The only "thrill" part is when you're blasted out the door for one loop around the outside track, and top speed is only 65 mph. No drops, no inversions, nothing to worry about - just a lot of speed. Really a great ride.

RNRC - talked myself into doing it alone last year. You're right, the anticipation is the worst part! It's so smooth, you're so strapped in, and it's so fast that those inversions are over before you can think "did I just go upside down?". You shoot into the first one right after you blast off. It's very fast, the speed never lets up. When it was over my ears were wet, kinda puzzling - then I realized tears had blown out of my eyes from the speed!!

RNRC is our favorite ride. Just to let you know it is in the dark so you really see the track which makes it a little easier since you don't see what is coming. The music blares in your ears so if you like Aerosmith you are really paying attention to the music. Also just to let you know there is a little preshow that you will have to go through whether you have a fast pass or not. I know what you mean about anxiety. I have to conquer the fear for Mission Space next week. I really would not worry about RNRC. It really is a very short ride.

At age 21, rnrc was my first rollercoaster EVER! I'm so chicken, but my boyfriend told me it was the ONLY way he'd bring me to disney world, so I had to do it. We waited in line for about 40 min. Which was dreadful for me. By the time I got on the ride i was shaking so hard. By the time I got OFF the ride, I was like 'let's do it again!!' I really enjoyed it. The hardest part is right at the beginning, the take off pushes your chest so hard, but once you get through that you're like 'i can get through anything else',and it's so fun. I noticed the inverts but they weren't bad at all, i'm sure you will enjoy them, so go and have fun!

tricia.

KatF, I love the fast rides, but my tummy doesn't. Before heading out to the parks, Bonine or Wal-Green brand, Wal-Dram non drowsy motion sickness meds works great for me. Dramamine makes me tired and / or sleepy.

RNRC is my fav. Hope you'll love it too.
