When I was but a slip of a girl ( a long long time ago!) a new shop opened up in my town called Primark - everybody in my home town said it as "pree-mark" - and they still do to this day.
I moved 180 miles away and there were no Primarks near me for many many years. When one opened a couple of years ago everybody around here says it as "pry-mark". I have to keep correcting myself, otherwise everybody looks at me askance. Then I go on a visit back home and be careful not to call it the newer name. I don't talk about the shop all the time, you know, but it does crop up in conversation.
So what's about you Disers?
Oh...another one:
Home town says "A - DEE-das" for Adidas
Current home says "Adi - DAS"
What say you?
