HOw do you get so lucky to receive the postcard? I have been to Disney several times and have always stayed on site, have been a member of the Disney Club(when they had it), had the Disney credit card, got the magazine, etc etc. I have never once recieved a post card. Yesterday my SIL calls me and says she got a post card in the mail for a great rate at the moderates. She has been to Epcot twice for like 1 day each time and has never stayed at a Disney hotel, nothing!! and she gets the post card!! Where is the justice here, I ask?

Don't feel bad.....
We've been going quite regularly, and just received our first postcard last month.

It was for AKL, but we were surprised to get it.

You'll get one sooner or later....

We have been to Disney at least 25 times since it opened, have been AP holders for several years and we JUST got a postcard about two months ago for the All Stars.

I was saying the exact same thing as you........... before today.
I received a postcard for moderates for $84.00 per night. I already have 10 days booked in October at ASMu.
I have been so frustrated that I never rcvd THE postcard before as well. I have an AP, DC, and average 2-3 trips a year.
I have read all the theories on who gets the postcards and I am now especially clueless now because of how the name was
on the postcard. It was my first name (Which I NEVER give out), and my maiden last name.
I cannot think of a single mailing list except the IRS, LOL, that would have my name like that.

We just received our second post card on Friday for moderates @ $84.00 through 12/25/01. The postcard sort of had my wife's name on it, except the last name looked like someone had their fingers on the wrong row of the keyboard! My wife is a lefty and bless her heart, you can't always read her writing. If you look at her signature, you could misinterpret the first three letters and come up with what was on the card. So apparently, this was a result of something my wife had filled out by hand and signed at some point.

Anyway, I called Friday evening and booked Riverside at this rate. The reservationist asked for the name on the card and that's when I noticed the mistake and explained what must have happened and the young lady made the reservation anyway.

By the way, our original reservation was at the Dolphin @ the government rate of $129.00 for 12/26 through 12/30 (5 nights). With this postcard, we were able to stay 12/23 through 12/30 (7 nights) for about $50.00 less than the Dolphin would have been...so we will be celebrating Christmas a couple of days early and heading down on to Riverside on 12/23! We got the $84.00 rate for each of the nights including those after the 12/25 end of the program. Thanks Uncle Walt.

Oh yes, if you are wandering about the first post card. That was received about 3 weeks after we returned from our trip in 1999 and was for the Value resorts during August/September. We lucked out this time and got a second chance.

I wonder if they are sending more of the cards out this year because of fewer numbers in the parks? I was surprised to receive one last week for the moderates at $84/night. Can you imagine my happy little dance when I got it? :bounce: We made our first trip since 1989 last year, so the only place they could have gotten my info was from my ressie. Had my last name mis-spelled the same way as on the ressie, too.

Another trip wasn't in our budget for this year, but........... there must be some expense I can eliminate so we can make at least a short trip. If its a choice between eating & WDW, what can I say? We all need to lose some weight anyway. LOL.

I haven't been to Disneyworld in 10 years (though I'm leaving for WDW on Friday). I've gotten a few postcards in the mail. I think I've been getting them because I requested lots of information directly from Disney? Not really sure. Maybe they just like me because I'm so cute!!!

Well after posting this thread, I finally got a postcard in the mail for AKL for $134 a night. Too bad I can't use it, but maybe they will keep me in mind in the future. Thanks for all of the comments!!!!

I recieved the postcard for the AKL too!! My name is mispelled on the card, just like our reservations were the last time we were there..... So in my case the information for the postcard came from our last reservation.

I got one at home and my husband got one at work! I couldn't figure that one out. The only thing I can think of is he used his office address for the Disney sweepstakes contest.
