Concierge regular rooms are in the Hawaii longhouse only.

Have a great Honeymoon :)

We were down to wdw in the Hawwii building conc. this past April. We loved our stay there.

We asked for a ground floor room facing the quiet pool, not the side of another building and ended up having a nice garden outside our door. Ducks would land there and wait outside our sliding door for some bread scraps, they even tapped on our door with their beaks.

The staff in the concierge lounge would do anything for us, if you do not see what you need ask and if they have it in the back they will get it for you. The food was great, lots of fresh fruit out all day, try the guava juice yum in the morning.

Scott a was great help in the lounge.

That is my fav resort at wdw. Have a great one. Congrats,

Deb.

You will be in Hawaii for sure as mentioned earlier, unless you are going sometime next year as Hawaii will be shut down for renovations in 2003. So you might want to check that out.

Your main choice will be floor and view. As to floor, it really depends upon whether you want a patio or not. 1st floor has walk out patios, 3rd floor walk out balconies, 2nd floor neither (although I believe you can open the door and look out). We like the walking out on the patio and never felt an invasion of our privacy being on the first floor. Another consideration on floor is that 1st and 2nd are non-smoking, 3rd smoking.

As far as view goes, the lagoon views are great! Again, a personal choice.

Be sure to mention (if you haven't already) that you will be on your honeymoon. The staff will likely have some nice surprises for you.

Good luck and congratulations.

Thankx you been a BIG help. I'm going nov 21-27 2002,we'll be married at the poly as well. I heard room 1505 is a great room,is that true?

Room 1505 is a great room. It is often referred to as "Tikiman's" room as he has stayed there. We actually were in that room in 2000 through "dumb" luck - we had requested first floor. We were in room 1511 this past August and that was a great room as well. The castle is clearly visible from both. From 1505 you can see the tops of Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain. From 1511 you have a great view of the Grand Floridian.

1505 is closer to the concierge desk and lounge which is a double edged sword. There is just a bit more traffic, although the difference is not extreme. It's a little different than most hotels in that the room numbers all go up - it's not odd on one side, even on the other. So 1511 was six doors down from 1505.

I walked around and I would say that you will have a great view no matter which room you stay in on the lagoon side. There are going to be subtle nuances, etc. between the overall view, but you should be able to see that castle and fireworks no matter which room you are in.

Didn't mean to go on so long. I just get excited thinking about it. We just got back a few weeks ago and everything about our stay was nearly perfect. Have a great time! I am envious!

Just out of curiousity - where are at the Poly are you getting married?

thank you folks4fun
you've been a big help, speaking of envious my mom is too b/c she's always wanted to stay there, but she has to be ok with staying at the contemporary(like thats a problem)lol
But yeah we're getting married at sunset pointe. We've seen pics but what do u think,is it nice?
til next time:rolleyes:

Aloha

As far as Hawaii longhouse is concerned here is the view situation.
1501 is down next to the lounge and the view of the castle is partly blocked by palms on the beach.
1502 is also partly blocked by palms
1503 is partly blocked by beach palms
1504 is slightly blocked by beach palms
1505 is clear to the castle (our room for the last 3 years)
1506 is blocked by palms on the grass in front of the longhouse.
1507 is clear with a good view
1508 is slightly blocked by palms on grass
1509 is slightly blocked by palms on the grass
1510 is a good view
1511 is a good view
1512 is a good view
1513 trees on the path block view of lagoon and castle
1514 trees block view of lagoon and castle
1515 trees partly block view on the left
1516 good view
1517 good view
1518 (last lagoon view room) slightly covered by foliage on the right but has a view of the lagoon and castle.

These are all first floor rooms but the views should be similar as you go up. Some of the rooms toward the 1518 end may have clear views if you were on the 3rd floor but remember the 3rd floor is a smoking floor. The rooms seem to be smoke smell free though.

Aloha

Steve

I think that looks like a great and scenic spot to get married. Depending upon which room you get, it could be virtually right outside your patio.

I think someone got married out there when we were there, but we didn't see the actual ceremony - just the setup for the wedding itself. I thought that the point actually seems to be a better and more scenic place to get married than the Wedding Pavilion (which had plenty of activity while we were there as well).

If you haven't seen it already, I would suggest you look at the following link from Deb Wills guide on faxing room requests. It includes a sample letter, etc. We used it on our first visit in 2000, and it worked quite well. http://www.wdwig.com/cro1.htm

Good luck!

We saw a couple get married at Sunset Pointe from our balcony in the Tahiti while we were on our honeymoon in July. Yes, tell them its your honeymoon and be sure to read the posts in that category as well.

Slinky Dog

We were married here in 2000 and LOVED it!!! I adore my pictures and love the video, especially since they have the castle in the background!!!

DH and I are doing a vow renewal there in 2004 or 2005 but it was just so beautiful we have ressies for Poly conceirge beginning 10/31/02 of this year! Can't Wait!!

You will love it!!!

Laura

We will also be at the Poly concierge, how long will you be staying? How old is your sugarplum? We are soooooooo EXCITED!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Dizma,
We will be there from the 31st until Nov 9th. My DD is now 11 but will be celebrating her 12th during the trip, our 2nd anniversary (second and LAST marriage) and DD's best friend's 11th birthday ( we are bringing her along as a surprise for both). I am SOOOO excited!!! When will you be there????

Laura

We are splitting our stay between the GF and Poly. We will be at the Poly conc the 3rd-7th. We are celebating our 15th. Our DD is 7 going on 17, and DD is 5. Where else on property have you stayed? It's hard to decide isn't it? We did the WL last time and loved it. Thought we would try something new this time. We had a hard time getting all nites at Poly conc. How early did you book? Can't wait.:D

I booked AKL savannah view first and that was in January then I switched to the Poly, Then Poly Conceirge Lagoon View. I think I did my final change in May and whenever the AP rates came out I got a HUGE discount.

I know what you mean about your DD....mine knows EVERYTHING!!! ( Mom's know nothing..but my mother said I was the same way....I guess what goes around, comes around).

We go every year and have stayed at the ALL-Stars (all 3), Carribbean Beach, Dixie Landings, Port Orleans, and Coronado Springs, now we are onto the Deluxes. This is our first year for the Halloween party and I am looking forward to that. This is also the first year DH and I can grab some "away" time from DD. SHE suggested the Neverland club and I don't know who is more excited, me or her!!!

Since you are staying there the same time, I am sure I will see you and your family!! Be on the look out for us!!!

Laura
