Another personalized magic band question

Thank you ahead of time to all of you smarter Disers than I!

Here is our situation. Last May, we had a trip to Disney World, staying onsite at Yacht Club. 4 of us bought annual passes. Yacht Club had magic bands waiting for us when we checked in (we had the 4 annual pass people, 1 cast member, and 3 he could get gate comp passes for. Clear as mud?)
So we used the boring grey magic bands for the 4 of us and they worked great.

Fastforward to October when dh and I (two of the 4 annual pass holders) booked another onsite trip to POFQ and received our customized magic bands. We now each have 2- our original grey and one pick and another blue :)

We have a vacation coming up March 1st with all the original people. The other two annual pass holders want to customize their magic bands for the two week upcoming trip where we are staying OFF SITE. I have put in on My Disney Experience to have them customized and haven't received them yet. We are offsite. When will they send them or will they send them? We have a couple of dining reservations during that time for everyone so they "know" we are there but without being onsite, I'm confused as to when the customized bands for the two show up.
(the others just have regular tickets this time purchased from Undercover Tourist that I will link to their original magic bands that they still have :thumbsup2

Any help or encouragement much appreciated!
 
So none of the AP holders customized their AP MagicBands after you used the APs? That would have given all AP holders a MagicBand, AP slider for it and your AP Discount Card to show for parking and discounts.

Plus if you have an AP you should set up your own MDE so when you travel on your own. Two of us have APs who will always be together, my adult DS has an AP and his own MDE and when together we just coordinate our FP+.

Did MDE give you the option of customizing AP MagicBands? If so, it may take from a few days to a couple of weeks. You aren't offered MagicBands with an offsite stay.

You would have received customized MagicBands for your Yacht Club stay if you had done the customization steps. For this recent customization, did you confirm the shipping address?
 
I didn't customize any of the magic bands when we stayed at the yacht club. I DID customize 2 of the bands when dh and I stayed at the POFQ in October. I have an MDE account already and have all gusts linked to mine.
So I have 2 left to customize and I have done that on the MDE site a couple of weeks ago. It shows I did customize but they haven't shipped and I don't see when they will?
Since we are staying offsite, I'm concerned we won't get them before we leave March 1st. How long does Disney take to ship them? If we are not staying onsite, what triggers them to ship? Me customizing them? Last time in October I received notification that they had shipped after I customized the 2 and they arrived a couple weeks before we left.

And just to make it clear(er), we actually all each have a grey magic band from back in May when we stayed at the Yacht Club. My dd and my mom just want to wear a color they can stand for two weeks in the park this time.:rotfl:
And it shows they are entitled to customize their bands so I did but they haven't shipped since I customized them a couple of weeks ago.
I dread getting on the phone with Disney to try and work it out if there is a reasonably simple explanation...
 
Did the MagicBand customization area give you a date to complete customization on your end? If not, it's just showing you that you never customized from the Yacht club stay and because you don't have an upcoming onsite stay, you won't be getting two more bands.

Because you received the non-customized bands at Yacht club, there's no way to get a customized pair. The MagicBand system provides you with MagicBands when you have an onsite stay... that's why you received them for your 2nd stay.

You can call whatever area handles APs and tell them those two never received customized AP bands.
 
Thank you! That is exactly what I was wondering. Now to figure out who I talk to in the Disney system about that!
 
From reading your post, it looks like you are missing a set of magic bands for you and DH. You should have 1 set from YC (gray ones), 1 set from POFQ (pink and blue), and 1 set that matches your AP.

When you go in to the customize screen do the magic bands show up together, or individually? If you have to click to customize each individually, those are your AP bands.

Make sure that everyone has an AP linked to their account.

You should get them for an onsite stay, but AP holders also get one.
They have to be active APs though...are they?
When we did ours they gave us time to customized and then they shipped after that with the customized bands, AP sliders and that AP discount card.
Make sure your address is verified. They won't ship until that is done.
