Another Ohana Question

It's only a must-do if it's a must-do for YOU.

We continue to go because we continue to have good experiences. If we no longer enjoyed it, we would stop going, and I'm pretty sure we would still have a good time. ;)

Based on what you have said, it doesn't seem like a good fit for your family & I would take my TS credit elsewhere!

We were completely unimpressed with the food at O'Hana.

The salad was fine but the appetizers are all dumped in one bowl on the table. The presentation is awful it looked like table scraps.

For the money this place charges i want seperate bowls each containing one type of appetizer.

The potstickers were hard on the edges, the wings were very sweet and fatty, the lo mein was ok as were the veggies so I dug them out of the bowl.

The entrees were not much better dried skewered chicken, the shrimp was ok but its true everything is covered in what tasted like the same sweet sauce.

I dont remember them coming around with any type of pork or beef.

The highlight was the bread pudding. My kids dont like bread pudding so they ate the chocolate cupcakes

Yes its all you can eat but how much mediocre food do you want to eat?

And the only entertainment for the hour and half we were there was the man with the ukeke but its so loud you really cant hear him

I just dont understand why this place is so popular.

I can find someplace alot better to spend $230.00 for the four if us to eat- even at Disney!

I will not eat here again and would never recommend.

Yes, this ^^^^^

I loved the selection at Ohana. I was completely stuffed by the end of the meal. We had so much left over food.

I completely enjoyed eating at OHana. Of course I like to eat almost anything especially meat. But my picky eater niece is excited about going back there as well. It may not be for everyone, but it certainly is for us.

OP, this is the minority view of the restaurant, not the majority. Most love it. Try getting an adr and you will see.

There is zero way to know that.

Most don't post on Disboards and even of those who do many won't weigh in. Just because you love it does not mean OP will, and they already have concerns about going.

OP absolutely should do what they want to do and not feel pressured by any opinions on here. Disney offers lots of options and folks should pick what appeals to them.

Agree^^
I have a coworker who eats here every trip going to great lengths to get the "coveted" reservation.

When I got back after eating here last month and told her my experience

~she said yeah the place has gone down hill the last couple years.

Why do you still eat here I asked and she responded well its so expensive and we always go during free dining.

That makes no sense to me:sad2:

You can ask about any restaurant on these boards and you'll get vastly different opinions. Ohana is one, like Chef Mickeys, where some people love it and some people hate it. The only way to know for sure is to try it once and see how you feel. We are willing to go anywhere once, but Ohana was a one and done for us. The food was average, the "entertainment" was nothing to write home about, and the service was lackluster at best. But, I'm glad we tried it !

The menu is very limited and it sounds like it doesn't appeal to you already.

The "entertainment" is minimal and not worth a stop for anyone so I would not factor that in.

Personally, not one visit (3) to Ohana have I felt my meal was worth the price, my service was at a level that I expected, the atmosphere was anything to embrace ...... and I don't see myself giving them another chance. They have consistently disappointed me.

If you are not excited about going, then don't go. Just because some folks love a place doesn't mean you will and don't feel like you have to go. There are so many options at WDW to use your DDP - find the ones that the atmosphere and food sound like your thing.
Very well said. I couldnt agree more.

I agree with these points. we had a similar experience. And i dont understand why its popular either. But everyone's taste is different. And this is all-you-can-eat, that (and buffets too) tends to be a winner with most people.

Once again, i totally agree with you. There's no way to know how if the majority like or dislike a place. If the menu doesnt appeal to someone, or if this isnt a good fit, you should find a place that does appeal to you. Lord knows there's plenty of places in disney to choose from.

My point was the restaurant is very popular and the majority like/love it. Many are repeat guests. If you read posts here, many say they are return visitors. If a restaurant has been around for a while and is very busy, that says a lot more than a restaurant that is not busy or does not get return visitors. Of course no one is pressuring the OP to go, people are just giving their opinions if the restaurant is good. What would anyone get out of them going? I have recommended Ohana to many people and most say it is one of their favorites. To each their own.
