What ones are you referring too? Vero Beach and HHI are the red-headed step children of DVC, they don't count...

No where in the article was a paid representative from Disney quoted. I wouldn't get overly excited yet. This whole article is based upon plans filed and a DVC blogger.

In no way shape or form would I consider Vero or HHI to me "Major" resorts.

Neither resort can be classified as a full service resort.
Vero comes closer than HHI, since at least Vero has a Spa and a full service restaurant.

BUT, I still wouldn't call either resort "MAJOR"

Aulani is a horse of a different color - lazy river, water slides, very unique dining experiences, world class spa, tropical location, and SIZE are all in Aulani's favor.

We are in the process of closing on a Hilton Head Island contract now, and the fact that they don't consider it a 'major' resort - I feel is a correct assessment.

BUT, I think Disney definitely has a few tricks up their sleeve!

I can't wait for news about a resort on their property at the National Harbor in Prince George's County MD near DC!!!!!

When i was in Disney back in Feb of 2009 while the BLT was under construction the DVC people were denying that it was going to be a DVC resort. One of them did sort of admit to me it was going to be once I told them I already owned and had no intentions of buying at the moment but may be interested if the new place was DVC.

I respectfully disagree...
If I can spend an entire week and never leave the resort, that's major enough for me.

At the Vero resort:
Tennis, BBQ's, Bike rentals, mini-golf, pool w/slide, two full service restaurants, full service bar with evening entertainment, beach with various water sport rentals, fitness center, children's activities, full spa, full banquet & reception facilities...

I'm sure I missed some things, but you get the idea.

I called my Guide and told him to call me if this ever comes to fruition. He said he didn't know anything about a GF DVC but you know how they are. To me it looks like to many things are in motion and why wouldn't Disney do this if BLT is doing so well and the demand for a GF DVC is there. I don't expect to hear from him anytime soon, but he said he will call me if anything happens (cough...cough, when he can officially tell me.)
