Another National ? (Credit Card ?)

I have a reservation for a mini van with national. I didnt realize when I made the reservation that the credit card used has to the person whos account it is in. I want to use a credit card that my husband has that has lower interest rate but the reservation is in my name and I am not listed on the credit card. Is national sticklers about this? He is a member of the Emerald Club. Do I need to redo a different reservation in his name or will it be OK with the one I have? Thanks a bunch.

If he is with you when you get the van you should not have problem. You don't have to use the card you reserved with to pay for the rental. Did you rent through husband's EA? If you didn't, I'd reserve through his EA because it's easier for pick up then you can change cc. I'd only do this if price is same. Or have your name added to the cc you want to use, you can always take it right back off after your trip.

Once when we rented I made the reservation in my husbands name. When we are in Orlando we are always together and I only bring the one CC with my name on it. They made a big deal about it and said that I could be the only driver or we could add him for more $$$. The CC name had to match the reservation and the car's driver. Maybe they have made changes.

They haven't. We had the exact same thing happen to us and it cost us a lot to add my DH to the reservation since he was the one going to be doing the driving. The ressie has to be in the name of the person driving and the credit card has to be theirs or you will have to add them as an additional driver.

Why does it cost to be an additional driver? Thats crazy!!!
