Another MAGICal Adventure - WBTA 2015

I just signed up for the Dis boards and am excited for this cruise. I am cruising with friends and the 3 of us would love to do champagne girls. My friend sent a pm to you with our names, since I am new to the site. thanks, Megan

Champagne Girls!!

This is it! The grand tradition of pink boas, tiaras, girl-talk and of course, champagne, continues!

It goes like this, we get together, drink champagne, talk, drink champagne, wear pink, drink champagne, wear tiaras, and - did I mention - drink champagne. We will reserve one of the lounges onboard, one afternoon on a sea day, and sample several different types of sparkling wine. Time, day, place, and cost TBD. Once we know all of that, everyone will need to confirm their participation via email. Cost will be charged to your room and will be non-refundable (probably around $30, give or take a bit). In the past, the number of participants has been limited due to room capacity regulations. (I want to say it was around 40 last time, but my memory is a bit hazy.) If we get more than the allotted number of participants, we will start a wait list or possibly organize a second group (but don't count on that - DCL only has so much space to allocate to private activities, so sign up early). This is for women only, no men allowed! You must be over 21 at the time of the cruise to participate. (Please don't ask if you can bring your underage children or traveling companions along, and put me in the awkward position of saying, "no.") PM me here to sign up!

WBTA 2015 CELEBRATIONS!!
Many of us will be celebrating events like birthdays and anniversaries during the cruise. If you would be interested in joining a card exchange and/or a celebration lunch on a sea day, please PM me here. (Date and place of the lunch to be determined. You will be able to change your participation if the date does not work for you.)

Here is an update on who has ordered pins, how many and who has either paid Connie or myself. If you still want pins, or the information is incorrect, please pm myself or Connie. If you click on the document, it will become larger.

Wohow we reached 100! So exciting

Welcome aboard! :welcome:

Check out the activities we have planned on Page 1 here, and send me a PM (private message) here if you want to join anything. You'll need to have 10 posts here before you can PM, so feel free to ask questions about anything or tell us a bit about yourself. You can also just post things like "Post #2," "Post #3," etc. We've all had to do that before! :)
@PFlamingo - did you ever get my PM? I was asking to be added to the recipe exchange but now thinking about FE and Champagne as well! With the FE, I've never done it before, but when I read up on it people mention giving indiviL gifts for each daughter, son, etc. will we know who is staying in each room, in detail? Ages, gender, etc?

Oh, and roll call I imagine! This will be my second cruise but still new to how forums work :)

Hi Peggy! I'm so sorry, I just went back through my inbox and saw your message. I'll send you a reply in a minute with the info I need.

The "rules" for the FE are pretty loose. Some people give one gift for the cabin, some give gifts to each person in the cabin, it's entirely up to you. We'll have several groups, each with about 20 cabins (18-20, usually). Some people participate in just one group, some participate in more than one, and some participate in all. Again, it's up to you. Once the deadline to sign up gets here (I think I said Aug 8), I'll get the final groups to everyone, which will have all the info about who is in the group. I'll probably get preliminary lists to everyone before the deadline, so they can get started on their gifts. We are trying to keep with the original spirit of the FE exchange, which is to give relatively small gifts that represent something about you or can be useful on the cruise, something that doesn't break the bank or the luggage weight restrictions on the airlines. It's just a bit of "pixie dust" for everyone.

Let me know if you have any question about any of this!

That definitely helps, thank you very much!

I would like to join one FE group and a Secret Mickey exchange for the September Transatlantic. Do I join by posting here?

Welcome! You need to have 10 posts to send me a pm (aka, conversation) with your information for the FE and Secret Mickey. I prefer pm's to posting private info on the public thread. You can post things like, "This is number 6," and "this is number 7," or ask questions or tell us about yourself. We've all had to get our 10 posts at some point. ::yes::

I was looking at the website to see if any more rooms were available, but it looks like the cruise is completely sold out! Awesome.

In case anyone was caught in the same boat as me, I booked a bit late and by the time I confirmed the trip, I could only secure a Cat09A room. I wanted a cat 05C or any verrandah room but none were available.

I have been checking the website religiously and Cat07A is now currently available and so I called to get the upgrade. It turns out there are Cat05 available as well and the website doesn't exactly show all the inventory available. Customer service was able to secure the Cat05C for me.

Basically don't trust the website. If there is a room you are looking for get a customer service rep to check. I am so glad to finally be in the balcony rooms. Can't wait for the trip!

lol Rich why doesn't that surprise me with DCL? I think what you'll find on this one is that a lot of rooms are taken but that they aren't large families they are 2s rather than 4s which means capacity wise the ship wont be overly full - or at least this is what I've seen on past TA's.

Could you please add us to the roll call: Karen and Kevin. I'm the mom and Kevin is my adult son. We enjoyed the WBTA in 2011 and 2014. We're not big on group activities, but we are friendly people.

I haven't read the entire thread, but I do recognize some names from previous cruises. Both Kevin and I are proud graduates of the Avengers Academy. I highly recommend this activity to all Avengers fans.

Looking forward to a magical cruise,
Karen (aka Rikersmom)

Karen I honestly can not believe I missed the Academy last year! I may cry if its not on this year!

Wow guys, this cruise is officially sold out!

I had my eye on this sail date but couldn't book since we don't have my hubby's fall/winter vacation schedule yet, but have fun!! I'm so envious and wish I could have done the WBTA. We were on the May 30th Baltic this year and the Magic was lovely and we had a great time. All the menus were revamped (and were new to me at least).

Are you sure its sold out? It might say it on the website but someone mentioned calling and being able to book still the category that said it wasn't available online so don't be 100% sure.
