Another lovely day in Oklahoma. . .

Well that was a weird post by me, obviously meant for the "What are you listening to?" thread. Everybody all set for the big day? We're getting there, I need one more item for DW to be delivered, and we need to make a major run to the grocery store for Christmas dinner ingredients and a lot of staples. The weather was dreadful here over the weekend so our pantry & fridge are getting depleted.

DW took our 5 yr. old DGD to see the Nutcracker over the weekend, and now she's convinced she wants to be a ballerina. I have a hunch some dance lessons are in her future.:goodvibes Both DGDs are concerned that there's no Elf On the Shelf at our house, how is Santa gonna know if we've been good? We just explain that we're good all the time and Santa knows that.:rolleyes1 Sorta like TSA pre-approval.

Looking forward to hearing from all the ALDIO-ians as time allows!:santa:

Don't worry about your other post , Micca.....I thought it was just all the drugs I've been on finally dissolving some of my brain!!! :rotfl:

I'm grateful for some of my lost brain cells, they were just making me think all the time.

Are you starting to feel any better? I know you could use a break from health issues. :)

Went for a follow up last week and the doc says to still totally take it easy. So just more sitting at the table playing phone games, or sitting at the computer DISing or watching mindless TV. That must be where my brain is going.....mindless TV!!! :headache: :teeth:

Anyone heard from Jevs? The weather turned really bad "after" her N.Y. City part of her vacation, I believe? The Niagara Falls, Ontario part was not the greatest probably, as we had a lot of snow, and many, many, fender benders!

I no longer like winter. (please remind me of that when I'm complaining about the 120 degree days next summer) It's been too flipping cold the past few days. That crazy storm that was going to bring our 70s down into the teens definitely did its job and then some. Oh, and the tornado sirens did go off about 30 minutes away. I never heard if actual tornadoes (the sirens went off three times that night) were confirmed or if it was just straight line winds. We had some wind gusts that brought down tree limbs and knocked over the outdoor furniture (I'll need a new umbrella), but I'll take that over tornadoes.

Micca, I thought I was just not comprehending your post. My first instinct was to assume I was not cool enough to interpret!

Kitty, do you have Netflix or Hulu? This would be a good time to binge watch some good shows. We could throw out suggestions if you need any.

Jevs, looking forward to hearing more about your trip. What are you seeing at the theatre tonight?

Midnight Train -- The Monkees

And the correct counter is Casey Jones - Grateful Dead

kitty - gotta do what Dr says. :thumbsup2

We aren't done, the kids are but my DS's in laws to go. We do 3 Christmas'. His family was this past weekend. My family is Christmas Eve. Then we do a combined Christmas with my DS's in laws on Christmas Day. The last one is rowdy :drinking1:drinking1:dancer:. So a couple things to go but at least I only have to make one thing, Irish Car Bomb cupcakes. Love a dessert with Guiness & Baileys it ha slight hit of Jameson. :jumping1:

I'm listening :listen: I'd try that even without the cupcake. I'm thinking of some coffee enhancement for some breakfast time sips over the next few days. Bailey's is great, I wonder if there's something else to consider. Not that anyone here would know of such a thing.:rolleyes1

We used to do the multiple Christmas thing, we didn't like it much. It was just too much of everything.

@Twilight Sparkle I'm sure you're plenty cool enough for whatever comes your way. :)

@jevs looking forward to the update

@Kitty 34 Twilight Sparkle's idea about bingeing some shows is good. Our cable system has Game Of Thrones On Demand, I was thinking about watching it while all the prime stuff on network TV is on hiatus for the holidays.

Yes I have Netflix, thank heavens!! I watched the 8 years of Weeds in one week when I first was sick. :teeth:

Yesterday I mopped the kitchen and entryway and then headed to Costco. I got home, and was so busy getting things in the frig I sorta forgot I still had my boots on. I got to mop the floor again! Lucky me! :rotfl:
Off to run a bunch of errands today. Sending best holiday greetings to the ALDIO friends! :santa:

:rotfl2:Too funny!
I am so looking forward to my holiday specials. You know, the shows that send my dh off to work on his crossword puzzles....:rotfl:
When Calls the Heart (Hallmark Channel) will be doing a special, as will Call The Midwife (PBS). My better half will be back when the TV returns to football. ::yes::

Gwynne, you need a mancave.....we just fixed up one of the boy's old room this fall so DH can sit in his lazy boy and watch ALL the football and American Pickers he wants!!! And I sit happily in the living room with my cat and Netflix reruns!!! :rotfl:

Ha! My DW & I are also "separated.":rotfl: I'm in the mancave most of the time, she works on the 2nd level, then comes down to the main floor in the evenings. I bump into her in the kitchen every few hours, and we have dinner together. We can't tolerate each other's tv viewing habits. We watch some of the same shows, but not at the same time. We only make an exception for Amazing Race when she will descend to my lair.

I listen to podcasts with comedian Adam Carolla who often says "The secret to a good marriage: A good bed, a good tv, and lots of square footage.":rotfl2:
Maybe that's what has worked for us for 42 years.;)
