Another lovely day in Oklahoma. . .

My neighbor has one, but it's the only one near here that I know of.

I've lived here off and on for 28 years now, and my mom the whole 28, and while a few have come close, there's never been one hit here directly.

We have a interior bathroom where we'd go if one was heading at us. . . only did it one time.

My parents had taken my niece to a local festival in another town and me, my late brother, my SIL, and 5 dogs were here. A huge storm blew in; sideways rain; TV said people in Coweta take cover; sirens going off; SIL freaking out. . so the 3 of us get the dogs and pile in the small bathroom.

After about 2 minutes, my brother said he'd rather die in a tornado than spend another second in the bathroom, so that was that.

Mainly we just stay away from the windows and hope for the best. :)
I couldn't imagine spending more than two minutes in a bathroom with 5 dogs either lol.

After Black Saturday here in Victoria people were building fire bunkers, I couldn't imagine spending time in one of those either not knowing what was going on outside.

So. Our state is just completely confused and breaking down, isn't it? Hurricanes are all that we've left to have... Right?

Hopefully I do this right. I'm trying to show you a video of the tornado that hit 12 miles south of where my son lives last year.

Thanks Kitty, scary stuff :scared:

Participation award for you for doing it correctly :goodvibes

Nah, you have a few more to check off your list...cyclones, tsunami, bushfires.

Then, Oklahoma will receive a participation award ;)

I found a good video of an F5 from 2007. There were no injuries or deaths. It was 40 miles from me. Skip to about 5.50 to see it at its biggest..

If Oklahoma gets a tsunami, we're all past the point of screwed :scared:

I've been through 3 minor hurricanes- one in Corpus Christi, one in Houston, and one in Pensacola.

That freaky, 20 minute storm that rolled through here in July and knocked 40 limbs off my trees; knocked the power out for two days, and knocked the cable/net out for 3 days was every bit as strong. just didn't last as long.

The short story the movie The Birds is based on is much scarier. We read it in high school and i couldn't sleep all night after reading it.
