Update: I did not get the points calling about 5m after @pangyal posted—after holding almost an hour I was told that someone else had requested them before me by timestamp and my guide apologized profusely. I suspect one of you guys beat me and I have no hard feelings—plus now I don’t have to tell my husband I spent $16k on DVC today.

Original comment for color: My guide told me that he’s holding them for me and waiting on QA to clear the sale. I called over 45m ago….have been waiting on QA for 40m. He said he can see a lot of other guides trying to grab them now…so that’s why I posted my update.

Fingers crossed Disney will help me help them take my money here.

Was I wrong to turn them down? Second-guessing now, but I think 45 isn’t enough for us and therefore we need to look at resale. I would rather they go to someone who really wants that add-on.

I don’t know how many direct points you have but it seems you have a lot of points in general to work with so it’s not like it’s an urgent buy. And given that any VGC points you buy would primarily be used there (and assuming you don’t really need more direct points specifically), you’ll definitely get a better deal than $310/pt for the larger contract you actually want/need.

I’m in the process of starting to put out feelers to the brokers we’ve worked with in the past about 100-125 point VGC contracts. It is likely that the one you’re thinking of is on my radar- but I really, really appreciate you taking the time to want to help

45 is a great amount to “add on” because it gets you another night or two (depending on accommodation size) and is guaranteed to be in your UY and have all of its points.

Not enough to be a standalone for most people IMO.

If you really want/need 100-150 then better to build it via resale and save the $ if you already have DVC-Y and a bucket of direct points.

Definitely NOT wrong.
If it’s not perfect, there is no reason to buy VGC direct.

Agreed if already dvc y blue holder, no reason more unless you wany legacy cards go multiple children or need to guarantee new resorts.

With that, vgc resale. Vdh depends if you want to wait and dedicated vdh resale or just take the dive and get vdh direct.

The DiS does not allow For Sale which includes sharing with others what is out there, and this would include initiating via PM.

We do have the Rejected offers thread which we have allowed because people do not post details other than resor, asking and number of points. Other details are left out. .and to some extent, it’s probably a borderline thread to begin with.
