Another Great Stay at CSR

Just got back last night from another great stay at CSR. We arrived on Thursday the 30th around 11pm (US Air was late out of Philly, why am I surprised) and they assigned us a room in the ranchos. We had requested casitas and politely asked if there was anything left. We were upgraded (free)to a casitas water view room 4265 and loved it.

The Pepper Market was great as usual, we just got pastries there in the mornings, refilled our mugs and had supper a couple of times. The portions are so large that my wife and I could split a meal.

We went to MVMCP on Sunday. On the way back our bus driver almost got us killed. He missed the turn from Buena Vista onto Western Way and had to make a u-turn at Blizzard Beach, no problem. When he came back to Western Way he had to turn left across oncoming traffic and did, in front of 2 Disney buses. Both oncoming buses slammed on their brakes and one barely missed us only by slaloming around the rear of our bus. I witnessed this from my seat in the back, facing the oncoming buses. Me and a couple of other people made a point to go to the front of the bus when exiting at bus stop 2 to get his name and have a word with him. He had nothing to say. I called Disney security from the bus stop and reported him along with the bus number. I never heard anything back from Disney, but I just wanted someone to investigate and make sure he wasn't drunk or tired.

The pool and hot tub were nice as usual, though we only went twice. Looking forward to another stay at what we feel is the best moderate resort. If you have any questions I'll try to answer them by checking back this afternoon.

Wow that whole bus episode is awful! You're at the happiest place on earth...not the scariest place on earth. It's good that you reported the incident, hopefully they will take care of it properly.

Thanks for the CSR information! I'm so excited about our stay next year.

Thanks for the review. We are arriving on Friday evening and cannot wait!! I originally requested the Casitas but changed to Ranchos 6B because we wanted to be closer to the main pool area. Did you find the Casitas far away from everything? Pool area? How were the buses? Crowds? Weather? I'm so excited now!

I didn't find the casitas that far from the main pool, we just went in the opposite direction as El centro and we were close to bus stop 2. The weather was great, it was 80 every day and 60's at night, though a cold front came through Monday evening and by Tuesday morning it was in the 50's. We've been at WDW this same time for the last 3 years and the crowds keep getting larger. We get there at park opening and ride the most popular attractions early, then enjoy the shows later in the day. Illuminations with the 'Let There Be Peace on Earth' addition is still my favorite of all Christmas shows. We heard that they normally set off 5000 rounds of fireworks for Illuminations and the 'Let There Be Peace on Earth' addition includes another 2000 rounds.

Thanks so much. Can't wait to see that show at Epcot.

Sorry about the incident with the bus driver, but glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at CSR !! I love the CSR and can't wait to stay there again :)

Welcome back Josh! Thanks for the great review!! I can't wait to get back there in Feb. :goodvibes

Hi
Thanks for your review. We'll be at CSR on the 10th from Philly. I've been reading some great reviews recently. This will be our first time there. Can't wait!!

So glad you enjoyed CSR. We loved it there too. :)

Wow, sorry about the bus incident. How scary! I'm glad you all made it safe!

You know, I have to say that the last two trips we have taken to WDW, we have noticed some of the drivers driving a bit too fast or really turning those corners without slowing down as much as I felt they should, especially with a bus load of people. You know you're not the only one who notices this, when strangers on the bus are looking at each other as we barrel down the road at night in the rain at a pretty good clip. It wasn't anything nearly as terrifying as what you experienced, just something I noticed on our last two trips, which also included the ME trips from MCO to WDW. We have been to WDW many times and have never noticed this before. In fact, on our 2004 trip, the bus drivers were superstars that made our rides fun, entertaining, and safe!

OP, I hope you hear back from Disney. They are usually very good at getting back to people.

Great review... After our first snow I wish I were there:scared: !!

Sorry to hear about Philly airport, and I know what you went through! One piece of advise, Atlantic City Airport has flights on Spirit 3 times a day direct to Orlando, and we have never been delayed:thumbsup2 !! (maybe a little far from Md.)

Still trying to get a CSR trip together for 2008, wish me luck!
