Another Fantasmic question

We are not doing the reserved seating for Fantasmic this trip. I did it with my middle DS on my last trip, but that was just the two of us, so it was more affordable, plus he is autistic and there is no way he would have been able to sit still that long to hold down the spot or handle people being so close. This time it will be all 5 of us, and I was wondering if bringing a blanket or towel to sit on is allowed. I'm not talking about a huge bed sized blanket or anything, just something with enough space for the 5 of us to sit on. Our plan is to kind of put DS in the middle and the rest of us kind of sit around him to prevent others from getting too close to him. It would be helpful if DH could put the blanket down and stay with it, maybe with our DS 14 while I took the two younger ones around to more attractions until maybe 15-20 minutes prior to the start of the show.

I've seen Fantasmic 2 other times besides the time we did the balcony seating, but I honestly can't recall if I saw people staking out spots with blankets or towels or not.

It's absolutely allowed. The group I see it with brings tarps, so blankets and towels are fine. Just make sure at least one person in your group is with the blanket at all times. Security has been known to pick up unattended stuff. Also, make sure that your whole group is there about 30 minutes before the show (there's usually a preshow with the Jambalaya Jazz Band) because any later and you're playing hopscotch trying to get back to your spot.

in a previous time I would totally agree with you jen but I was just there on Friday and I havent seen Fantasmic since they had the major refurb...now things are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay different...for one they block off all the sit down areas with rope and to the right side of each area there is a walkway of sorts....no one can sit in that walkway but it makes it way easier to get back to your spot...People went in there with stroller and everything and about 10 minutes before showtime cm's just came round and said they would have to flatten them...it wasnt crowded like it has been in the past....and as long as you have someone sitting there holding the spots you are good to go...it is a HUGE improvement from what it used to be....right before the show starts they remove the rope for the standing people and also remove the rope where people can get in and out of their spots, allowing others to sit there...so as long as your party is back within 15 min before showtime you will be fine
