Hi,
I started selling stuff I have around the house a month ago. So I'm not a big seller or anything. Today is the first time I ever received an email from a buyer saying that they haven't received the item I shipped on 11/1/05. I used delivery confirmation and according to their tracking record, it was shipped on 11/4/05.

I think they will still dispute the fact that they didn't receive the item.

What do you think I should do?

I can't claim that they must've received it, but at the same time I have shipped the item and USPS confirmed it as delivered.

What should I do?

Thanks so much for your help... now I'm stressing out... :(

please?

Why don't you e-mail them with the tracking number and indicate that the USPS has delivered this on a specific date. Maybe their neighbor has it, or it has been placed at a different door than they normally use. I would be polite, but let them know that USPS indicates it has been delivered.

thanks, I'll try that and see what they say. Hopefully it's just a misunderstanding...
Thanks for responding.

I have had a lot of problems lately w/ USPS showing my packages delivered when in fact they've been sitting at the post office. This has happened no less than 5 times in the last 6 weeks. I'd make sure your buyer has their tracking info- then ask them to double check w/ their post office too.

Sadly, there are also buyers who claim they never an item when they did; perhaps hoping the seller will just refund. These are maybe not always the sharpest tacks on the bulletin board though, not realizing the difference between delivery confirmation and regular mailing. I would send the tracking number and copy the paret about it being delivered. You might not ever hear back again.

Thanks guys.
I did send the delivery confirmation to check if that's the correct address.
And it is. I will check into the post office thing and ask them to do the same.

kilee, how did you find out that your package was still at the post office?
did you contact your PO or did your buyers have to contact theirs?

thanks everyone...

If DC is showing as delivered with a date, it's more than likely at the buyers po office, not yours. I would have them check their post office; ask them to please check when you send the DC number to them. If you used paypal to do your labels, i believe they get an email with the DC number so they should probably already have proof that you mailed it/was delivered but i would still send it again just in case. sadly, this is the time of year when the scammers are out in full force trying to get refunds/keep the item, etc. I know it's discouraging when you get a buyer like this, but hang in there!

we had a bad experience earlier this year with someone who purchased one of our first items claiming she hadn't received it AND getting the money back from Paypal (and hence from us) - and this is despite the fact she had left positive feedback :faint: It took about 3 months to sort out, because its really hard to get a "real" person to talk to, for which time DH's paypal account was "overdrawn" and transferred to a $ account. Paypal are still asking him to pay the "transaction charge" - DH says they can :rolleyes1 for that, as if they'd nothered to check the ebay account they could have seen this woman was trying it on - he sent them links and everything.

Well, I even called the buyer's PO and the lady said that there's nothing in the office... :(
I guess now I wait until the buyer respond. I don't know what else to do.
Hopefully she won't give me a bad rating... all my ratings (albeit not many) have been positives.

thanks everyone for your responses...
