Another Disney Store validation....

Found out tonight our Disney Store is one of the stores closing.

I wonder how this will affect the new Disney Outlet openning across the street from me. It will be openning in the next month in a Prime Outlet. And I am so excited, it the closest one to us, the next one is over 75 miles away.

I believe that one is closing if it's Williamsburg Outlet. Some outlets (especially the older ones that use to be the catalog outlets) will go back to Disney. Most of the stores in my area are closed now (and we use to have about 20). Did see the remaining stores in my area are closing. The only stores left close to me, which are not closing, are Dulles Town Center, Tysons Corner, and Colombia Mall. There is a legal document on the web that has a list of all the stores they are keeping and the ones they are closing. Not sure where the link is now but saw it a couple of weeks ago.

I hope the one closest to me doesn't close. I was there on Wednesday and commented how they didn't have much merchandise. I just thought they were getting ready for a new shipment of summer clothes. Now I'm worried that they are getting ready to close.

Hey Gadzilla, I feel the same way about the Disney store at Lakeside. I live on the Northshore, but always stop in if I'm on that side of the lake and sometimes I just wander the store and find NOTHING....how can you find NOTHING in a Disney store

I hope it gets revamped (and stays) too. You mentioned that there are 3 or 4 in the NOLA area.....where? Does the big mall in Baton Rouge have one? I've never been. I know the Slidell mall does not, BUT, the Prime Outlets in Gulfport, MS just opened a Disney outlet store. I've yet to get over there, but I"m dying too

The whole situation has been stressful and exciting. It will be interesting to see how soon merchandise and other changes are made.

And for those mentioning adult clothes and items. Both stores in this area have been carrying adult jeans, polos, tunic tees, dresses, skirts, bags, flip flops, winter boots, hats, kitchenware, studio collection canvas prints, notebooks, watches...nothing like ceramic collectibles or art but much more than has been carried in the past few years. Ever since the contract breach was cited by Disney Co., Hoop Retail has made changes to the merchandise in the store.

And there is a huge collection of Snow White outdoor decor in right now, very nice. I will probably buy some of the figures to be placed inside the house!

Hi Violet Crayon! I'm in the Milwaukee area as well...closing should be effecting us right? I'm almost certain Southridge is a Simon Mall and I believe Mayfair is as well. I haven't been very impressed by the Southridge location, Mayfair seems to have a better selection.

Either way I'll be sure to stop in soon, some of my most comfortable pajamas are from Disney Stores, I'd love to get my hands on some more if they've brough adult clothing back!!

DisneyGirl02, I can appreciate the way you feel, but I know many cm's who left the store right before TCP bought the DSs because they didn't like what was happening higher up. And more left after the sale. I guarantee that they were dedicated cast members who took pride in working for Walt for many years AND also enjoyed the perks. I left before the change because it didn't fit in my schedule , but I know those who left because of the sale felt that "Walt" had let them down and didn't feel appreciated.

The Tri-County mall store in Cincinnati is on the closing list. The store mgr. said the mall is going to do all it can to keep the store. Luckily I live in the middle of two and the other is not on list.

Sorry, Lakeforest is on the "not being taken over by Disney" list. Which means it will be closing according to the legal documents that have been filed. In addition to Lakeforest closing, Hagerstown and Waldorf are on the closing list too. Only Colombia and White Marsh will be left in our area (along with Dulles and Tysons). The outlet in Potomac Mills and Arundel Mills are staying with Disney so will remain open.

Mall of GA was on the chopping block according to the CM that I spoke to at the Gwinnett store a couple of weeks ago. They were actually thinking of closing Gwinnett too, but that would be a bad move because I am sorry, I am not going to Discover Mills. That mall is always dead and the prices on most of the merchandise is overprised for what is billed as being more of an Outlet mall.

I have my fingers crossed that Gwinnett Place keeps their TDS!

Why in the WORLD would they close the Mall of Georgia store? That store still has the original decor and is always busy.

Gwinnett Mall has been dying for years, and as for the Northpoint Mall store, it is that crappy new Children's Place decor!!

Gosh! I HOPE this isn't true!! When would the stores be closing??

I agree, I would love to see the list or at least know if the one in South Hills Village Mall in Pittsburgh is closing. I stopped in yesterday and asked and the girls said they weren't sure what was happening yet which makes me nervous

I was wondering about South Hills and the Mall at Robinson! The Robinson store is fairly new.

We went to Foley (AL) last week specifically for the outlet store, and guess what?

IT WAS CLOSED!!

One shop told us it was gone, and another shop said it was remodeling and reopening....I guess only time will tell.

Does anyone know if the Pigeon Forge outlet is still open?

Just want to see if they are closing the outlet stores too....

..and for the record, I hope it goes back to a CATALOG outlet! I got the best deals then.....

I was wondering about South Hills and the Mall at Robinson! The Robinson store is fairly new.

I know! The South Hills one is less than 10 minutes for me! If it has to close I pray that Robinson will remain open or at the worst case scenario, we still have Ross Park Mall but that's a bit much for me. I like being able to take DD over to the Village just for the Disney store and run back home...I hope it stays

I am a little worried b/c when I asked the girls yesterday, they looked a little weird about it
