Another Disney Store validation....

The plans when Disney takes the stores back is to bring back the Gallery Stores, so since Gwinnett Place just had it's refurbishment and it's already set up as a Gallery Store, it would make sense to keep it open. Frankly, the sales at Mall of Georgia aren't that good, especially for the price of the rent.

I wasn't able to get details on when the closings will occur, just that it was going to take place soon.

I don't read these boards enough to know about the change but that would explain our situation. I live in the Chicago suburbs and have no idea how many Disney stores there are around here. I have three in malls somewhat close to me. The one I go to the most has been in the same location for more years than I can remember and is rather small. BUT, they are relocating/remodeling to a bigger store in our mall by this summer. I guess that means that it is staying!!!! It is a Westfield Mall, if that means anything? One of the biggest malls in the area is a Simon mall--should be interesting to see if it stays because it is a huge store!

Our Disney Store is the old original design and is super cute! I'd guess it's been there about 10 years or more. I hope they aren't going to close it! I would love to see some new items, especially home decor, but if they close it the next closest one is an hour away.

Ok I found the list. But im not sure if it the ones that are staying or going? The list has 220 stores on it it says Acquired Store Schedule? Does that mean those are the ones they are fixing? or selling?

If Disney does not acquire a store it will be closed because Hoop Retail is pulling out of the Disney Store America chain.

Same here It basically lists every store in the state of PA for us Not even all of our malls are Simon and they are still listed

Does anyone else wish that Disney would include more adult options like they used to? I still have some really quality clothing I purchased years ago and whenever I wear it Disneyphiles ask where they could buy it. Yes, I know Disney is for kids, but obviously, by the numbers of us on these boards, as adults we spent a great deal of money at the Disney store.

I do think Disney is smart to eliminate stores. Absence makes the heart grow fonder...and the stores more special.

OH! That's something I forgot...one of the first things the Assist. Mgr. said was that they should be getting more clothes in. I was so happy to hear this!

There are many Simon Mall locations on the acquired list so I don't see that as a huge factor.

Indiana will keep:
Glenbrook Square in Fort Wayne
Southlake Mall in Merrillville

I highly doubt that all of the stores will be remodeled befor August 1...there are too many stores that would need to be remodeled, mine included. However, I don't want mine to change!!!! I like it the way it is!

I wondered that too...I just was so excited about hearing the news and passing it on that I couldn't remember EXACTLY what he said about Aug. 1st.....and I can't wait for mine to change...TCP really screwed ours up!

Bring back old school Disney Stores that sell things that people over 3 years old will be interested in!

I used to visit MONTHLY just to see what was new and get a little Magic...not lately!!!
