Another dining plan question

I will be travelling with two teenagers (so adults as far as the dining plan is concerned) and looking at the menus, I think we may visit a couple of restaurants in which one of the kids will have a hard time finding something they like.

So, if two of us order a regular entree and the third person just orders an appetizer or a desert, would it be possible to pay with two dining plan credits and pay OOP for the appetizer/desert/drink to use the third credit a different day/different place?

The only restaurant I have read that it might be an issue is Via Napoli. Otherwise as long as it isn't a buffet or AYCE you will be good .
