Wow! I always thought people talked on these boards to communicate about Disney- a place of happiness. Why people need to attack others is beyond me. Don't we remember "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all" ? Ther personal attacks on various boards are getting out of hand lately. I don't think they would attack someone in person like that. Maybe it temporarily makes them feel better to belittle someone else.

Miranda shouldn't have to feel attacked posting on message boards about Disney. Ever hear the saying "Be a fountain, not a drain"? No need to be a drain.

I agree that it is just in the media more. There are deaths every year at theme parks all over the world. Last summer a woman died in church in my area- right in the middle of the ceremony. Disney can't prevent that any more than they can change the weather.

I have seen perhaps 1 single rude comment the entire time I've been surfing through the postings on this message board. Why do people get all bent out of shape when someone makes a comment that does not even remotely resemble an insult? Do we need to start a new emotional counseling thread or something?

Really-Saying someone must have a lot of mirrors in their house because they had a picture of themselves posted isn't rude? We have different definitions of rude, I guess, but that's okay. There are a lot of different people on this board.

We were there just 2 weeks ago at the AKL and a man died of a heart attack there. I felt so sorry for his wife and young children and my heart and prayers go out to them.

We were at AKL July 7th - July 16th. Didn't know anything about this till now.

My prayers also go out to this family.

I think the "rude" comment may have come from my SIL.. She never has anything nice to say about anyone.. It's due to her own shortcomings and insecurities.. The only way she can feel good about herself is to cut someone else down..

Don't give it another thought.. There is nothing wrong with your question - OR your photo!

I don't know where so many of the rude comments come from. But there are an awful lot lately. Even though my signature doesn't show it, I've been around these boards since the late 90's. It was never like this. And it makes me so sad. With all that's happening in the world lately, can't we be civil to each other here- in the greatest country in the world?????? We have it all - let's try to be kind.

I asked a question recently on the resorts board. I received the snidest, sarcastic comment, something like "you could find that information on about 3,000 sites on the web". Thankfully, someone (NCombs, I believe), said "or she could get it here which is why we come to the boards - for information". I really was hurt. Even searched out the person on the search feature, wanted to give a sarcastic comment back, but couldn't do it, isn't my nature. But there HE was, asking questions, being nice. Why be so mean to me??????? I just can't understand it. I think after this trip, I'm gonna stick to Intercot, I don't find as many nasty people there.

Lots of people put their pictures in their sig. This gal is just being given a hard time because she's gorgeous. If I looked like her I might want to have my pic in my sig too. Unfortunately the guinea pig is cuter than I'll ever be.

wow I have never seen unprovoked animosity like I saw in this thread on the DIS before, comments about one's photos really are not necessary at all. If you don't agree with something that has been said in a thread then state your opinion and keep it movin. geesh!

You didn't sound snarky at all! I thought they were lovely pics too. I enjoy seeing people, and frankly admire anyone who can figure out how to post them! I have never figured it out!

Hey Miranda, I posted my picture in my signature too and man, I got flamed left and right for the CRAZIEST things all day!

Literally, every post I wrote I got a sarcastic, mean remark to!

I was like, what the heck?!

Soooo, I switched it to the picture I have up now, and everyone seems a lot happier.

Miranda, see if you can find a picture that is your 'totem'. Disney Barbie is mine!
