Another CM Killed at WDW

It is very sad, especially for the poor man's family. :(

I think using the word 'killed' is a little extreme though, as it was an accident. All 3 were very tragic accidents, and my heart goes out to everyone who knew them.

It was on our local news this morning.
How sad. :sad1: I will say prayers for family and friends.

Oh, how tragic!! Our prayers are with all who know and love this young man - and the entire CM family.:grouphug:

How very sad! I feel so sorry for this man's family, friends and coworkers!

On our last trip we went to see Indiana Jones and I was picked to be an extra in the show. It was so much fun and very exciting! :goodvibes The tumbling is very real and very practiced.

I grew up around gymnastics so it never really frightened me but when you really think about it, it is very dangerous stuff! I agree that the use of the term "killed" is a bit much. I think this was an accident plain and simple. But none the less a terrible tragedy!

I just saw this on CNN and jumped on here to see if there was any more info. Man, that’s horrible. I’m honestly surprised that this hasn’t happened sooner due to the caliber of that show. I know and understand the training and lengths gone to make this safe, but the odds are stacked against them.

This makes me wonder what lies ahead for Disney, now with 3 deaths in 2 months’ time.

How tragic! Prayers are with this young man's family, friends and CM's.

So very sad. Sometimes we forget just how dangerous some of these stunts can be.

This is so sad, the performer's family is in my prayers. So many accidents happening at Disney lately.

What is that three deaths in the last 6 weeks? All fluke accidents...I hope that this ends.....

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.....

Man, that is so awful. My prayers go out as well and I pray no more accidents will happen.

I really think OSHA needs to do an investigation at Disney. I used to work there and they treated us awful. Guest first, guest first, guest first. Labor Laws have been broken there a lot, especially the ones involving minors.

A sad truth. I worked at Disney as well and actually got injured on the job from something that could have been prevented had Disney taken precautions in their set up of this location. A week later, another girl was injured in the same location and again it could have been prevented had Disney been a little smarter in designing the location. (Said location has since been rebuilt..) In my location, the managers set up contests to see how long we could go without injuries. If we got to x amount of days, we got a pizza party and whatnot. This led to people getting injured and not mentioning it for fear of ruining it for everyone else. Although, I think a lot of this has to do with the lower level managers, not particularly Disney though they do represent the company.

But regardless, what a terrible situation Disney has been in lately. I will keep the families in my mind.

I don't know about the rest of you guys but accidents do happen at work-even work as simple as store clerks etc. get hurt. Every place I have ever worked we have had a bulletin board that kept track of how many days we went without an employee being injured.

The last 2 accidents-not killed- but accidents that resulted in death were just that accidents. One fell and hit his head. Could happen in your own bathroom. One of my friends had the flu and passed out on the toilet in her home once. She fell off and found out 2 days later she broke her neck. She was very blessed that she didn't die because of her not going to the doctor sooner.
The stuntman in the Indiana Jones show was trained. I was in gymnastics and even though I knew how to roll , I always didn't get my head tucked just right. It can be a very easy way to hurt yourself. In this case he must have hit the wrong spot that ended up in his death.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all 3 of the families of the young men that have died at such young ages at Disney this summer.

I think I might've missed something. Did the gentleman hurt in the pirate tutorial not make it? someone please tell me I am wrong? what happened to him, I thought his recovery was going reasonably well? :sad1:

Unfortunately, that gentleman passed away around the 10th.

Sadly, he died from a blood clot after surgery. So it was more of a complication from surgery than from the injury itself.

Thoughts and Prayers to the CM's Family. There had sure been alot of sad news out of the Kingdom latley :sad2:

This is so sad to hear. My prayers and thoughts go out to the friends and family during this time of need.
