Another Cash Ressie ?

We have ended up having to change the dates of our huge group trip to include 2 weekend nights instead of just one. Originally we were going to stay in a Moderate the first night but now the weekend is in the middle or our trip so we will stay put. I just want to make absolutely, positively sure that is I book Wed & Thurs with points, Fri & Sat with the member discount and Sun & Mon on points that we will NOT have to move.

Am I remembering this correctly or do I need to just book all of our rooms at non DVC resorts? Also if we don't have to move will we have to re-check in and get new room keys or not?

They "link" your reservation and that pretty much guarantees you have the same room for the entire trip. However, there could be an outside chance of having to move.

I haven't read your other threads but I want to remind you that a member cash discount is only good for the unit that you are staying in. If you are booking multiple units, they aren't eligible for the member discount.

If they have a cash discount available, only the member is eligible for the cash discount. You wouldn't be able to have more than one villa with the cash discount and you, as the member, would have to stay in that room. They will check your driver's license to verify you are who you say you are.

You could try for an AP discount for the weekend if it was available. If you have an AP. But it would be harder linking the reservations and you might have to move. And you will probably have to re-check in for an AP discount.

Okay, thanks for the replies. While talking to member services last week she did not mention that only my room would be able to get a member discount.

Thanks for clearing it up because I think she would have let me do it last week. I didn't try however beacause there was a mix up with our new contract and we redid it with the new incentives. I wouldn't have been to happy to get down there and not been able to get the rooms.

My mother and I are on our contract together so she has her own blue id card. She will be with me on this trip and one of the rooms is for her. Will we be able to book two rooms with a member discount or only 1?

I do not want to do anything that is not legit this is just something I had never even thought we would do so I have never checked on it before.

All I know is that the member must be staying in the room. So if each of you are members, you should be able to get two rooms. If they are available. They are not always available.

Thanks Deb. I have checked and there is plenty of availability so that's not going to be a problem. I think there is probably plenty of availability because of the new rooms that are opening up at SSR. Now I only have to decide if I want to do it or just stay at moderates and not worry about it.
