Another but different Upgrade Question

I didn't see the answer to this and I even emailed Disney with no response. Can I use my voucher to upgrade my AP to a Premium AP (not premier) and pay the difference? If so, how do I figure out the amount I would have to pay???

Generally, you can't combine the value of two tickets to make one ticket. The only exception I know of is adding the value of a water park ticket to upgrade to WPFM or maybe even to a PAP. It's possible that APs have different rules, but I don't think you can do it. I'm sure Cheshire Figment or Doconeill will have the definitive answer for you.

The answer is no, you can't. As StitchandPooh'sMom already pointed out, with very few special exceptions you cannot combine two tickets into one, which is what you are asking.

Your GAD voucher itself has no dollar value. You can use it to get a GAD ticket, or if you have a multi-day ticket or AP already you can get the other options.

Now, the GAD ticket itself has value, but it is a ticket, and therefore you are running into the "cannot combine tickets" rule.

You could apply the GAD ticket value to a renewal of an AP, if you are at least within your renewal window. When you renew, you can up/downgrade your AP at the appropriate renewal price.

By definition an upgrade is taking one ticket and adding cash (or similar) and ending up with one ticket with more entitlements. You cannot combine two tickets to get one ticket with more features.*

* The only exception to this rule is at the water parks where you can combine a one day water park ticket with a base or hopping MYW ticket and a payment to end up with a MYW ticket with the WPF&M option. Your payment will be the difference in price between the one day water park ticket and the cost of the WPF&M option plus tax on the difference.
