If I book a reservation in my '07 use year now, then later bank some of my '06 points (within my allotted window), can I then apply my banked points to the reservation I already have?

Yes, they will usually allow that for reservations made using Home Resort points. If you have multiple resorts, it might not be allowed if you are trying to use banked points from another resort.

In this case, why not bank the 2006 points and use those for the reservation in your 07 Use Year. If you later decide to make a reservation within your 06UY, you can still borrow from the 07 points for that trip.

Either way should be OK.

Enjoy!

Just note that when you bank points and then reserve make sure you tell them to use banked points first. They generally automatically do that but sometimes you get an agent that does not quite understand what they are supposed to do. Also, if you make a ressie and then bank points later, call to make sure they put those banked points into the ressie and take out the ones that are not because they will not do that automatically.

I agree overall but want to emphasize a couple of points. First, if you have an existing reservation then later have banked or borrowed points, they will not AUTOMATICALLY incorporate the banked/borrowed points into the existing reservation. ASAMOF, it's essentially a cancel and rebook situation. Thus they can sub any points that are not sold out into your existing reservation but can't do it for sold out days. You should always ask in applicable situations. In most cases it can be worked out but it's not automatic even if you ask for it.

Thanks for the input.

I banked my remaining '06 points and then made a '07 UY reservation using the banked points first. The CM was great---made all of the suggestions first before I had to.

By the way, I've contacted MS about 5 times now (being new I had a lot of questions)----each time the service I received was excellent. :thumbsup2

I'm feeling the Disney spirit.

In this regard I think most are very good to excellent. They are more variable in others areas but most are still very good.
