We spent 4 nights in a ocean view inn room earlier this month. This was our second stay at Vero and I think we loved it more than we did last year.
We took advantage of some of the resort activities.. boche, bingo, sidewalk chalk, boogie boarding, water slide races and the campfire. My two DD's and I got our hair braided and that was LOTS of fun. Just a warning though.. make sure you put sunscreen on your scalp if you get your hair braided. I got a NASTY sunburn there and it really hurt.
We didn't do very much outside of the resort. We did check out Hale Orchard..well the store. They do not allow tours of the actual orchards anymore. We also stopped by the Nature Center and spend some time there.
Most of our time was spent on the beach. If any of you were there from June 7th -11th and saw this dark haired girl digging a HUGE hole in the sand that was my youngest DD. I think the first day she dug a whole about 6 feet in diameter and about 4 feet deep. Why? LOL "Because it is fun!" At least that is what she said.
I saw one turtle in the water but I don't think it was a loggerhead.. or it if was it was a small one. The diving birds were a hoot, but now that I know it means "man eating"
fish/sharks could be by we will definately stay out of the water when they are around.
We had a wonderful room.. a HUGE room on the 4th floor. It had a perfect view of the ocean and from the side window we could see the pool (corner room).
All of our meals at Shutters were wonderful, but breakfast. It left something to be desired. We didn't eat at Sonyas and Bleachers was good for counter service. We also didn't make it to the Green Cabin Room this year, even though we had wanted to.
Our days were spent on the beach mostly with a little bit of time at the pool. We would have a late dinner then get a movie and crawl into bed watch it and sleep till the sunrise woke us up. It was incredibly relaxing, just what we needed after a week at the parks.
Can't wait to go back.
