Another Al Lutz Mega-Update: Watch Out for DCA!

I have yet to read the article but what are they going to do with the old Milloinaire building? I wish they would bring Rockin Rollercoaster out here!!

woohoo!!!

If they really do bring back the People Mover, I want to be there the day it's unveiled!

Any People Mover-like ride would be OK, but I really hope they make it just like the original, only smoother (perhaps maglev?).

Mickey's Philharmonic!!!!! :yay: :dance3:   :goodvibes That was the only attraction I wished DL had, after visiting WDW!!!!

And maybe Mission to Mars too, but it was pretty intense. I wonder if that is the E-ticket ride in Tomorrowland they're thinking of?????????????

No, no, no. Mission to Mars has a bad reputation after the deaths in the last few years and the large number of people who get ill on the ride. It will never be rebuilt anywhere else.

The problem with PM, as I understand it, is that it had safety issues due to the open car setup and it did not meet state requirements for safety (there were a couple deaths on PM related to male teenage hijinks).

However, it existed before the state requirements were created and was grandfathered. Since they removed it, it is no longer grandfathered, and they can no longer build the same PM as before because the state will not accept it. Hence rumored concepts include an enclosed PM based on the pods from the Incredibles movie.

My family (well, the kids anyway) love Mullholland Madness, but DH and I really won't miss it too much. The new coaster replacing it sounds much more fun though, so our kids will still be happy! On the other hand, DH and I LOVE Primeval Whirl in Animal Kingdom at WDW - SO FUN, I giggle throughout the entire ride!:woohoo:

And I agree, the Victorian Beer Garden sounds like a great place to kick back and relax!:thumbsup2

The removal of Mullholland Madness will just make our views better for our new DVC villas at the GCH!

I was wondering about that??? Oh well............................

Did you notice that Al kind of skimmed over that subject?? I was hoping for some more info on that. Oh well, when he knows more, we will hear about it, I'm sure!!! :rolleyes1

I really dont think there is much room for a DVC tower... i would think the DVC tower be held at the new Gardenwalk...

BUT i really think with the destruction of Timon Lot, they need another structure somewhere else to shuttle guest in... and it cant be next to M&F. :|

Don't get me wrong,but I'll believe it when I see it.:sad2:

Mission to Mars is my favorite attraction from ANY Disney park & I'd love to see it at DLR.

Maybe the reputation has improved since they've split the ride into two versions. (With the "-0- G force", Mission to Mars "Lite").

hound <----prefers the Venti G force version on this "next generation" ride. :woohoo:

These seem like great changes to look foward to. It is already a hard choice between WDW and DL. I think this is going to push me to DL every year.

I think this should be pretty great. I am a little skeptical of a Ratatouille roller coaster though. The way they are gung ho about including smells in the rides over at DCA this could be an interesting experience.

It's called Mission: SPACE. Mission to Mars was a different attraction, located in Tomorrowland. Its location is the current home of Stitch's Great Escape.

Thanks for the correction. I think we all knew what we were talking about, but we should call it by the right name.

There used to be a Mission to Mars at DL as well somewhere near the Redd Rocket's Pizza Port. Mission: Space is a much better ride.

Yes, I was referring to Mission: SPACE. (in Epcot....next to Test Track).

1000 years from now, America will be known for 4 things:
1) The birthplace of representative government.
2) First man on the moon.
3) The birthplace of rock & roll &
4) The birthplace of Disney. :smickey:

So to DLR master planners.....feel free to bring Mission: SPACE (along with Mission Space Lite) to DLR.

(But please leave Stitch's (annoyingly) Great Escape in Orlando.)

Whoops! Sorry about the name change! :rolleyes1

.............................................................And I'm old enough to remember the original Mission to Mars at DL. :sad2:
