Congrats to Marilyn!!!!

Just catching up Kathy :yay:

Quite the packing list

The marathon trip sounds fantastic! I would love to stay at the Poly sometime!

Boy, do you come prepared. I put my entire family's things into one large pink suitcase!

I guess having your car there makes a difference. I can hop to the crazy Publix if we need anything. I probably would be packing everything but the kitchen sink if we were to stay on site.

We are getting closer! Woot!

Do they teach that in "Husband Manipulation 101" :lmao:

I know, I know if we didn't want to be manipulated we wouldn't be...:)

Oh, make no mistake about it... Ed is the Head of our household. He makes all the big decisions.

The husband...the husband is the head of the family. But the wife... she is the neck. And the neck can make the head turn anyway she wants! ~ My Big, Fat, Greek Wedding.

Oh my goodness Kathy, it is 56 days until our vacations!! Where has the time gone?? How are you? Is your family excited yet? Bill doesn't get really excited until about a week before we go, I am slowly moving into panic mode, lol.

Congratulations to your sis!:cool1: Four babies is nothing...:rolleyes1

Love the pretrip within the pretrip.:thumbsup2 I am going to do the 5k also!:woohoo: I actually read your report from last year to get excited about this one.We haven't had an adult trip in way too long.I guess I should get us room ressies....

Awww thanks

I missed you too!

Be aware - when you go away on your trip, it takes a long time catching up on all subscribed TR's

Yes it does!:scared1:

Ok, once again I am NOT getting my emails alerting me to the posts on my thread subscriptions. What da heck is going on!?!?

Anyway, my one main comment is: What are Chew-Tubes for Billy?

I will now go back and catch up on the rest of the witty banter.

Oh, and YES... MEN = KINGS of HOUSEHOLD. :woohoo: Go Men! Go Men! Go Men!

psst! Don't tell Linnie I said that. :sad2:

I can answer the chewy tube question, thanks to Kathy.

Chewy tubes are a soft plastic item that kids, especially autistic or sensory seeking children, can safely chew to get the sensory input they need. It helps them stay in a calm (or helps them get back to) dispostition. When I found out about them from reading Kathy's thread here, I got some for our Son, Alex. He asks for them when he needs them now. Hope that helps aswer your question. And sorry for hijacking Kathy.

Thanks for the info. Trey (Moan Boy) also seeks things to chew on. For a while he chewed the front of his shirt all the time. Then it was small rubber balls. Lately he's been chewing on a doggy chew toy that he found. Now I know that we can get him some tubes and he can chew on those. I think the chew toy works though. It's a big bone that squeaks. ;)

J/K about the bone. At least the world today has embraced our little boys and is providing them with things to help them cope with their disabilities.

Trey is out of the chew stage (for now) and is doing REALLY good in school in this year. He loves his teacher and she likes him. She also communicates with us which is a first. The others all said they would but ended up not informing us at all. We like to work with the teachers on follow through at home on things he may have done at school that were inappropiate. So far it's working. We're keeping our fingers crossed. :)

Uh huh. I saw/heard that Buzz. I've been off the boards for awhile, but I'm back now. Women rule the house you should know that by now. :thumbsup2

Kathy, I didn't know that about mosquito bites. Trey and I get bitten up every summer while LA & Buzz maybe get one or two bites. I'll have to remember to get us some of that. I do spray our yard every 4 weeks once the mosquito season hits. I hate that job-no matter how hard I try, I always end up drenching myself with mosquito poison. Ugly job, but the head of the household just has certain responsibilities that SHE has to take care of.

Sorry, I've been off the boards for several days. Busy, busy, busy! Got a lot of catching up to do on everybody's reports (and mine too!) Tomorrow I'm off, the kids are in school, and hubby's at work! :woohoo: Ahh. Me time!

Linnie the Pooh: It really works; try it! :thumbsup2

MDF: Chewy tubes really help; I buy them by the dozen! :lmao: www.abilitations.com. I'm so glad he's doing well in school!

DisneyMomFanatic: I'm glad you were here to answer the question; I've been falling behind on my DIS-ing! :thanks:

dismom9761: Do I smell the potential for a Marathon Weekend DIS-Meet?! :cool1:

Marion: That's one of my favorite movie quotes! :happytv:

mousescrapper: It will just whet your appetite even more, right! :goodvibes

mrsksomeday: Hakuna Matata, my friend, Hakuna Matata! ;)

Goofster: Whenever I tell Ed that, statistically, married men live longer,
he always says, "Yeah, but then they all wish they didn't have too!" :joker: Hardy-Har-Har!

blue_river: I hope you've been updating your report because I'm heading there next! ::yes::

Halloweenqueen: Some of it I send ahead, otherwise I wouldn't be able to fit it all! :rolleyes1

Thanks for sticking with me through my little "dry spell"; update to follow ASAP!

Kathy

Ok, I went back to find out what that was that you take for mosquito bites and I couldn't find it or remember it. Could you tell me what it was again please? My memory is shot these days....

Thanks Kathy for bringing me on board - honestly I want to start a pretrip report to - its like a blog that talks back!! How COOL!! :cool1:

Dismom/Amy well woohooty GF - glad you're still on board for the marathon weekend!!

wish me luck!! I stumbed on Kathy's '07 report and was inspired, as well as scared to death as dh challenged me to the half, and he's doing the full!! :faint: (his words - "dear the 5K is just a good day shopping, or a day in the parks for you" :rotfl2: and of course he's right dagnabbit!! :rotfl2: so I'm supposed to be training!! I keep giving up on me - then someone inspires me - :goodvibes Thank you so much!!

and I'll go back and read all your pages here!! Just a back ground info on me - I was a full time teacher, BK (ie before kids) after a miscarriage, or two - I had the bestest baby - now 22 - and he taught me so much... because of him, I learned sign language, and I became a full time substitute teacher in our district - and I love working with ALL kids - I often sub for the one on one aides for the inclusion "Autistic' kids!! Its the best feeling I get!!

Hi Linnie!

It's Vitamin B1, or Thiamin. Think I said B6 before; I'll have to go back and edit that! Makes you smell bad to mosquitoes (but not to people) so they won't bite you!! :lmao:

eeyore45: :welcome:

Kathy

A dismeet would be awesome!:cool1: Your trip report about last years marathon weekend is the one that inspired me to go.:goodvibes without kids.:thumbsup2
