If there is, I haven't found it. Twitter and Reddit are virtually silent. FB and the DIS look to be the busiest platforms...

the could release it at any time. There's no need to speak with someone on any type of reservation/help line so why not.
They opened the CM registration at midnight to alleviate traffic on the site

Yes, that’s what I figured. The other poster seemed to think the wait was over after 5pm. Just checking that theory. I think it’s MORE likely to release in the evening.

I would be surprised if it was released in the evening honestly, they tend to do emails mid morning or mid afternoon. That being said, I’m refreshing like a BOSS

You only need to view, don't have to post ti receive additional emails.

I'd guess either before 5, probably even earlier, if Disney sees the need to have CMs available to handle "issues" or midnight if Disney wants to balance server loads. I'd be surprised if bookings started after 4p. Either midnight or sometime between 9a and 3:30 mickey time. I my guess is tomorrow, Friday at the latest.

Did they open the cast member registration at midnight with prior notice to cast members that it would be at midnight? Or did they just randomly drop it at that time?

I just looked at my last 9 emails from Disney Passholders back to January. They all throughout the day as early as 9 AM and as late as 4:40 PM.

I assumed it would be before 5. Just my assumption. Probably wrong, but I just don’t see it going later. I don’t remember a lot of Disney events with registration so late.

there was no prior notice but a lot of rumors floating that it would be at midnight

I don't think we can predict when we will get an email based on previous emails. I received my Pandora email about an hour after I registered via a link in dis.
