Originally it was going to me and my fiance but now that the dates have come out, It is just going to be him (he is the bigger SW fan). We had a trip planned from August 16-19th with his granddaughter (who isn't a passholder) so if we can get the preview on the 18th, it will just be him and I will stay with his granddaughter.

Is there a better board I can post on about those going solo getting together and trying to meet up? I mainly asked about ladies because I’m not sure how enthusiastic my husband would be about me walking around with some dudes at Disney without him LOL I feel like I’m about to write a personal ad. I’m 35 years old and super into Disney and Oklahoma football. I have a two-year-old and a four-year-old and we hail from Atlanta Georgia LOL

If I get in, I will be with my mum so anyone wanting company is more than happy to join us if day and times mesh up and I of course can get flights!

You can open a thread about solo travelers. This thread will remain open only for discussion on previews and registration

Although my trip is with family, I'll be at the Preview solo... I'll be the random weirdo hacking droids (if that is available to us).
Oh! I do hope this is available if we're lucky enough to snag a preview spot!!! My kids (and me LOL) would MUCH prefer a droid to a light saber :dumbo:

Oh, I meant in the Disney Play! app - you can interact with a bunch of the droids etc. I wasn't talking about making one :)

So there about 300 people on the group thing. Assuming that those all have a party of 4, it means 1200 reservations. Assume another 2000 reservations from the people looking at this forum, this thread alone will dry out about 3200 spots.

Let’s assume the new land can handle 20000 people per day, and let’s assume that the do the initial run at 10% capacity. That would mean 1000 previews per day for 5 days at total of 5000 previews.

When the link becomes available, it may be already too late...

10% of 20,000 is 2,000 not 1,000. So your guesstimate would be doubled for the number of slots available.

I would honestly be surprised if it’s only 5000 people for the entire preview days. They could easily handle that per day split up over 3 4 hour time slots

I would think that they will have more than 1000 people per day .. way more. Maybe 1000 per time slot (with 4 slots a day).

This will be popular for sure, but really how "fast" it goes all depends on:
1) How many Platinum and up APs there are
2) What percentage of those can even FEASIBLY go to the previews. I would guess that easily over half of the Platinum and UP passholders can't go (dates, time off work, money, etc.) or don't even want to (no interest in Star Wars, have a trip planned already, etc.)
3) How many slots Disney makes available.

Disney obviously knows those numbers and has some sort of calculation in mind. It is why they limited it to Platinum and up and why it is only 5 days.

I wish I had even a very rough idea how many Platinum Passholders there are. Without that magic #, it’s impossible to even venture a guess how competitive this will be. My guess is that there are more CMs than plat passholders. And the CMs are all local and presumably mostly available. I’d assume that a fairly small fraction of PAP holders would even be available to go (for arguments sake say 20% although I’d imagine it’d be lower in reality)
