I got some more information regarding all the texts in the GroupMe.
I emailed support and it does look like folks that are using the SMS only feature do need to respond with a message or #Stay.
But it only seems like they need to do this one. The constant #Stay SMS is annoying. I wish they could suppress the #Stay message from hitting everyone's SMS.

This error is usually being received when the said member only uses an SMS account.
This is because the system automatically mutes these members. The reason for this is actually it's a built in as a protection against spam and abuse of our system. We don't want people to be stuck away from their phones and receive too many text messages without their permission-so we give them a fair chance to mute them after 12 messages.
We send those members instructions on how to unmute the group or how to exit. We also give them the chance to resume after they're muted in the group with instructions to simply reply to start receiving messages again.
They'll be warned at 7 messages and muted at 12. To unmute in they can send any message to the group number or text #stay and they'll be back in for good!
Or better yet download and use the application because users that are using the application do not encounter this issue.

At some point, we hope to have a better system built out for one-way or announcement-style groups, but for now, we're really focused on our core product: reply-all group messaging. Stay tuned, though-lots coming!

Thank you for this :) It was a minor inconvenience, but if the biggest problem I'm having is a notification from my cell phone that I am lucky enough to own, regarding the following of a preview that I wasn't expected to be granted, at a resort that I am blessed enough to be able to have an annual pass to..... then life is pretty freaking good :) :)

I do have to say, however, that the notification we got at 11:59pm last night about a new member joining the group literally had me JUMPING out of bed, knocking over everything in my wake to try to locate my laptop in the dark :) :) ... It was a pretty funny sight to see :)...

The anticipation is killing me!!🙈 DH and I are first time AP holders this year, and it just so happens the preview dates line up perfectly with our already planned trip! 😁 We’ll be there on my birthday and a preview to SWGE would just be the icing on the cake!!! Blue/Green milks all around! 😉 I’m SO worried about missing the email! Checking back here constantly! I’m having a very hard time staying focused at work!! 😆😜 Best of luck to everyone and thanks to everyone who makes Disboards so amazing!!! ❤️

I dropped out of the groupme when they announced the dates wouldn't work for me yesterday. Have to say my phone has been pleasantly quiet.:teeth:

Any thoughts on which preview dates will be the first to go? Also do you think morning afternoon or evening would go first? I mean I am assuming 17th and 18th as far as dates go since they are on the weekend, but i was wondering if anyone thought the 21st would be popular too since its the last day. Trying to decide my plan of attack since we will already be there for all of the dates but a few days/times would be most optimal for us (since only DW and I are APs and my parents and her parents are not hahah).

Anyone? (Of course, I searched; I even tried to read back. I don’t see a link or scan code or any info. I see a post where it looked like there MAY have been a link at some point?

Received from a kind member- thank you!

I did post as soon as I saw the announcement on Twitter that the dates were out.
Then I realized, we might still need it in case the emails come out in dribs and drabs, so we can potentially get notified sooner that later as soon as someone first receives the email.
