Annual Passholder Previews REGISTRATION LINK IN FIRST POST-EVENT FULLY BOOKED

Let's not go down the rabbit hole of people trying the old Pandora event link and posting how it is reacting. The link will work when it is active. Period. It could be a totally different link. We don't know.

Having it "act different" from a previous day doesn't mean anything and all this chatter (and thus the activity on this post) is just getting people excited over nothing. :)

Internet pages like this are cached all over the internet and you may just be getting an old page or different reaction to it. Or there are so many invisible, behind-the-scenes things (cookies, sessions, etc.) that happen when going to a "link" that automatically redirect different people to different things.
In addition, that link allowed all AP to sign up
This one is select AP so it is going to have to have something different about it somewhere. Just food for thought and pondering while we wait

Don't disagree with you one bit. I'm just excited something "different" happened since this preview was announced 3 weeks ago.

The recent update to the AP benefits page suggests the email will be weeks and not days. Who knows.

The something different could be something Disney's doing something to get ready. It could also be related to the hundreds (thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands)? refreshes being done by Disney fans.

What's different is logging in will not only have to validate our AP but the type of AP. Disney could use the old Pandora link or a new one. Who knows.

We have no idea how the one guest will work. I was told Disney anticipated every AP having their pass linked to an individual MDE account. I have no idea if the Disney's IT system can handle people who have multiple APs linked to one MDE account. The plus one won't be an issue for couples. I'll speculate Disney will make an adjustemnt after the fact, if necessary, to add additional children who aren't eligible to have their own MDE account. I'd go ahead and sign up one kid, if that's all that's allowed, hoping to add the others later. I could be wrong. Maybe parents need to decide which kid to, at least initially, sign up. Base it on age? Who is a bigger Star Wars fan? A bigger Disney fan? Which child is better behaved and thus "deserves" it? Nowhere near a "Sophie's Choice" Not literally life and death.

This isn't how this thread was supposed to work. It usually is:
We open a thread for those interested in registering
People chat a bit but mostly join in by subscribing to the thread
There's very little chatter until registration opens up, when the link and details are shared and then everyone shares when they booked or couldn't book
We have lost complete control here, please don't share threads or links that DO NOT APPLY to this event as it confuses new members and those who don't take the time or have time to read through all pages

So, if I were to get my husband his own account, if I already have FP booked for him for our trip in August, would those be dropped as his pass is moved to a new account (and one of our kids)? This messing around with my account makes me nervous.

We have upcoming trips with FP's booked. I'm not about to start creating or moving accounts around, especially based on nothing but speculation as to how this is going to work. It's not worth what issues that could come up.

Maybe you could rename this current thread to "Annual Pass Preview Discussion" and start a new thread that is STRICTLY an "Annual Pass Preview Watch" of a live event only. Any chatter will be deleted and punitive points will be issued.

The community here could continue to chat away and those who want to get away from the noise and only be bothered when it's time to register can subscribe to the other thread and hope that someone who is actively checking every 10 minutes and having conversations around that work here on this thread will post to the other thread when it goes live.

Personally, I appreciate the people who are sharing and discussing things here. If it were not for this thread, it may have taken me longer to figure out which pages to stalk and refresh. I get that the notifications can be frustrating, but the posters who people are getting frustrated with are likely to be the ones to first find out when something is live. I'd rather have them around making noise, than not.

if the discussion would remain civil and focused only on SWGE previews it wouldn't be a problem, but this thread has deviated far from the subject on a couple of occasions. Like I said this is not a first "preview watch thread" there ever was and all the other ones have remained focused and fairly quiet, without people posting links that don't work and have nothing to do with the current watch.

It wasn't an issue last year for me
YMMV
Unfortunately, due to the changes implemented with the FP system earlier this year that likely isn't applicable now.

I don't know what would happen if someone had FP booked, made a new MDE account for a family member, moved their AP to the new account and then linked that account back to the original. I mean, in theory, once all linked together with the AP showing on both the owners MDE and the linked family MDE, the FP would be fine. Too many if's for me. Not until we know more about signing up family who are not linked.

I think it's going to be pretty clear that when it comes to a linked account, you can only add 1 person that is connected to your MDE via a linked account.

People who only reside in your MDE (typically immediate family in most instances), who do not have any other accounts, those are where it will be a toss up but seeing how they have no way to get an invitation and are fully qualified AP holders, you'd think they'll be included with the account owner.

But isn't this the first preview that got announced so far out? That one was coming, eventually, that is. Did the others have 3+ weeks of "when will they post the announcement?" time frame?
I seem to recall Pandora's being just a couple of days
Toy Story was more but was it weeks?
Time seems to make folks antsy and chatty, LOL

I don't mind the chatter so much as the rudeness and snarkiness of some. And that's not just me that's the Dis guidelines. Also the off topic posting and false links. Again I want nothing more than leave this thread open but between the Mods there is talk of the need to lock it and that's why I'm trying to keep the chatter under control

The accounts were linked first. The annual pass was transferred. The FP stayed.
I don't know if anything changed. Take a screenshot.

We can speculate but I don't even think the CMs know how the system will handle multiple guests with APs sharing one MDE account. I agree with PP, those guests should be eligible. I'll speculate IT system issues may dictate the rules.

No, not the CM you ask but they have hinted that they may post more clarifications on the AP page. If that's the case, I'd be more inclined to believe that expanded info vs just something said on the phone

And by FP changes I mean the new policies put in place regarding canceling associated resort stays and FP. Does that also translate any insecurity to FP and tickets and moving them around? At least you'd get warnings first, they aren't just deleted. So there's time to straighten it out.

FWIW, the CM my DW spoke with said they're waiting on more information to drop any time now just like us.

Slightly off topic but I’m wondering how CM previews work. I assume they will at the very least have those. My wife and I are actually moving this summer and have interviews next week. I’m wondering if it’s open to all or it goes by seniority. Would be cool if we just happened to get a chance at it. On the other hand, it could be a huge bummer to be a CM, AP, and have a DVC stay with someone and still not get early access.
I would definitely get it verified as soon as you can. Try to see if you can book a fast pass. If you can't do that, then you probably can't book the event.

Did you ever get an answer to the CM preview?
If I remember correctly, Pandora's was done by lottery. For lack of better words. CM who were not working in the land and who wanted to go registered and then they picked from those. Obviously if sign-ups didn't exceed openings then all got in. But it did
