I guess I don’t understand how you don’t see that? It literally says “and a guest”... I would think that a guest isn’t another passholder. Maybe the lead in the group will be able to register all APs connected to their account, with one non-AP guest per person? So a family of 5 could ultimately end up being a group of ten. It’s clearly up for interpretation and we will see how it plays out.

It would be beneficial merely based on The idea that more email addresses(for the MDE) = more chances to receive an email. But if it is only the two of you, then it shouldn’t be a problem to just have him under you MDE Account.

I remember making my own from being under my mom’s and they said I shouldn’t receive emails until 30 days after(if I receive them at all). I wouldn’t worry about it right now because it is highly likely that the link will go out in less than 30 days. Nope, he doesn’t need one because he should be under your MDE

My husband always gets the emails but feeling paranoid so want to check and see if anyone on here who does receive passholder emails could tell me the last passholder related email they received. Ours was on 6/24 - Summer Savings for Annual passholders.

AP plus guest could be this (notice could, I don't know for a fact)
AP holder who owns the MDE account which automatically includes all members of their family that are direct in their MDE account or, don't have any other MDE account of their own. So the single account is viewed together in one group, plus a guest who you have linked via a second MDE account.
MDE knows who is only a member on your account and who is linked to your account.
It stands to reason they are considered differently when it goes to booking the event.
I simply can't imagine Disney intends a family with 2 parents and 5 eligible kids to have to pick who gets to go. Heck what about a single parent with 2 kids? Y'all truly believe Disney envisions the parent can only pick 1 of their 2 children? If they really intend this then it's horrible form on their part. Children wouldn't be primary account holders. Heck some who have an AP can't even read! How would they sign up?
I get it says a guest. But there has to be something different about linked vs. those who are just family members. Plus why else mention that you share plans with this Guest you want to include? You don't share plans with members listed only on your account

Maybe it’s Sophie’s Choice? That would be a horrible thing for Disney to do! I think you are correct that 1 MDE(with all people under that do not have their own) could be considered 1 AP person, then that MDE can invite someone else who holds a different MDE as their ‘guest’. Disney might be doing this similar to the FairyTails pin trading package(Best in show). If you got in, you could register someone else. Say there are 2 friends. One might be able to get in, while the other doesn’t. The one that got in could ‘invite’ the other friend to join them.

So, currently, I have an MDE account, and have profiles for my husband and my 2 girls living only on my account. IF what folks have been saying, I would have to register myself and one child on my account. And create an account for my husband, and then log into his account and register him and my other child, correct?

Which leads me to me to my question.. I am trying to set up DH's account to be ready. BUT it won't take his annual pass info, I have to remove him from my account before I can finialize his "new' account?

That’s how I’m interpreting it. I would make sure you have all the logins and passwords for all the individual MDE accounts, just in case.

And having made a decision on the same time frame if announced in advance or stay in touch as you do it so you can pick alike.

Except that it also says this:

• Valid Annual Pass and photo ID are required at check-in for each Passholder and Passholder Guest.

No one without an AP will be allowed to go. Whether or not they'll allow you to add a non-AP member ( I don't believe they will), it clearly says everyone must have an AP at check in.
