inhave never booked a resort room with my annual pass before and I have a question. Do I need to show my annual pass card when I get to the hotel? These days we never stop at the desk for check in so want to know the process. I’m also asking because I am going with my sister and won’t be arriving until later and want to be sure she can get into the room. Thanks for your help!

I don’t have a definitive answer for you. But I have had an AP for years & have booked many resort stays with the discount. I personally haven’t had to show my AP card in years. I’m thinking they can see right in my account that I have the active AP. Now if you don’t currently have it & are activating a voucher while there, they very well may want to see it. I would expect you to get a “see the front desk” message at check in if you need to show your pass. If you get a room number & can skip the check in desk, I think you are fine.

Like PP, I can't say what they'll request of you but after having an AP for 3 years and having over 20 different check in's (at least) I've not one single time had to show my AP, even including our very first one that we booked before activating our AP.

Thanks for your response! I already have my ap so we are all set.

Thanks! Since they no longer require a stop at the desk for regular check in thought it was odd that you would have to stop and show you ap at check in.

And they VERY RARELY asked Guests to produce an AP when everybody had to Check-in at the Front Desk.:)

The only resort I have had to show my AP card was the YC and that was before MDE, I haven't had to show it since. In theory you don't have to visit the front desk if doing on line check in. In reality we have had to stop at the desk more times than not, but not to show an AP card. There doesn't seem to be any reason for it either, they already had all our information. YMMV

I didn't have to show my AP at check in, but I always have the card with me just in case.

So if we get a discount at Boardwalk, but haven't activated AP yet (only have certificate), do we need to go over to Epcot first to activate AP so we can have a card to show proof? Can we leave luggage at Boardwalk while we walk over?

thanks!

No. Even if they were to ask to see your AP you can bring it back later.
But as everyone thus far is saying, no one has been asked to show an AP yet

You might want to call Reservations and have that noted on your reservation page.
When I made our reservations for three rooms with my AP discount I was told that the Passholder either had to check in first, or be present, for the other guests checking in to get the AP discounted rate.
