Annual passes

How can I book these? And how far in advance do I need to book?

We purchased our Annual passes at Hollywood Studios in Guest Relations. We just converted our 8 day PH tickets and paid the difference in price. You can do this on your first day or last day. The AP will expire a year from the first use of any ticket. If you don't have tickets, and want to get them before your trip, you can get them through Disney and they won't expire until a year after first use, not the date you purchased them.

Are you talking about annual passes for DLP? Easiest way is to buy them when you first arrive at the parks - either at the normal ticket booths or at Guest Relations at the entrance to the main park or at the Studios. Take photo ID with you, its a very simple and painless procedure .

Yes I'd read a review about them to cut a long story short friends of ours are going in march and have had to book 2 rooms 1 of which they won't use so we were going to stay in it buy breakfast in the parks and buy our tickets but it looked cheaper to buy an ap rather than a 4 day pass and then I'd I'd have the excuse that we would need to go again!! He he

Really glad to hear that they don't expire until a year after the first use. We're going in March on a package, but I'd like to buy some APs whilst I'm there as a surprise.

I'd like to be able to go around Halloween and then again for the Christmas season.

Sorry to jump onto this thread but can anyone tell me to do they still do the cheaper option for passes? I need 3 day tikcets, but it would make more sense to buy the cheapest pass, but when I looked on the dlp official site in French from the way it read to me (and unfortunately my French is as good as I'd like it to be) there was only 2 kinds available

they do still do the Francillien, but with this one there are 60 blackout dates per year and you can't use it on days 2 and 3 after you've bought it.

it depends - if you get a good deal on a hotel/tickets package, theres not really much point in having an AP. However if you have Dream APs (the most expensive ones) you do have more flexibility over where you can stay/how often you can visit.

Thank you both for the advice, I didn't realise that you wouldn't be able to use the Francillien pass straight away. Can you buy them over the phone? I could ring and buy one to activate straight away a couple of days before my visit

The Francillien is activated the first time you visit the parks and put your AP through the ticket reader

Not on this visit as you'll have your park tickets already included in your package. For future visits, even with an AP it often works out cheaper to book a hotel package with tickets included rather than a room only with an AP discount, hence why the majority of people with APs tend to stay offsite. If you decide to stay offsite on a future visit then APs usually do work out better value than park hopper tickets, especially if you time your next visit within the year of buying the APs, plus if you were to buy Dream APs you'd still get EMH.

Remember that everyone in your party aged 3 or over will need an annual pass, and they need to the top (ie most expensive) ones to get access to EMH if staying offsite - so for just you and your son thats nearly 300 euros outlay, before you even book a hotel room.
