My husband and I are yearly travelers to WDW and usually have 10 day non-expiration tickets that we use. However, this year we will be traveling to WDW at least 2 times. One for our anniversary and then in the fall with extended family. Now to my question...

My dad has AAA and has offered to help us purchase Annual Passes. If he bought APs for us thru AAA, dose he have to be there to present his AAA card when we activate them? (like military ticket purchases)

Thanks for your help!!

When ever you purchase something using some membership, you should be prepared to show identification for proof of that membership.

We used to buy our Disney tickets through AAA, because we are members, and in the past Disney has asked to see our AAA membership cards. Will they ask you? I don't think anyone can give you a guarantee that they will or won't. We don't bother purchasing through AAA anymore because we don't feel that they offer us much of a savings, so I haven't done it lately.

When we check-in to hotels, whether Disney or some other hotel, if we have booked under a AAA discount, some hotels ask to see the card, others don't bother.

Double check but I think that AAA offers discount tickets on everything but AP

We bought annual passes through AAA last year and received a voucher in the mail. When we redeemed the voucher for the annual passes we did not have to show our AAA card. Honestly I do not remember anything on the annual pass voucher that even indicated that we had purchased the annual passes through AAA.

I've bought tickets several times through AAA and have not been asked to show the AAA card.

I also wanted to throw in there that I'm a AAA member and called our branch about annual passes. They do offer a good discount but it wasn't as good as the renew early discount I get through disney. Also, we are DVC members and it DEF wasn't as good as the DVC discount!

I will also point out that not all AAA banches offer annual pass discounts. When I did it last year I had several ask me about it that lived up north and we discovered that AAA was only offering it to certain states (Georgia being one of them)

How much of a discount is it? I may check into it, we have AAA.

OH, I never noticed that half the people on this thread are from Georgia and we all live in the burbs of Atlanta! hey yall! :-)

AAA South offers discounts on top of the regular FL resident discount, so that's why I buy from them.

DH & myself get the FL Weekday AP. Currently, buying through AAA would save us $11 per person ($22). They used to charge a "delivery fee" which would eat up the savings on one of our passes. Did they really need to add a delivery fee to stick a piece of paper in an envelope and mail it? Anyhow, that's why I stopped buying from them, however, it looks like they may not charge that delivery fee anymore.

Sorry if I have strayed off the original topic.

I was looking to get an AP with AAA but don't see a discount listed on their page for the AP. This would be my first time getting one so it's full price with disney.

I stay off site so if I go to disney in May as planned and then a potential trip in December, the parking alone would cost at minimum $120 (8 days worth).

4 day hoppers x2 already cost more than the AP

AAA is actually operated regionally. Not all branches offer the same kind of tickets.

There is a branch of AAA (the Auto Club) called "AAA South" that serves
Florida, Georgia, Middle & West Tennessee, and Puerto Rico.

They have WDW AP's (Florida Resident, and NON-Florida Resident) at a discount.

When you go onto the AAA website, it is designed to only show you the info that is from the AAA Club serving your area.

You can avoid this fee by purchasing them in person at a AAA South office. Not sure if they still charge it however.

I purchased our current annual passes (vouchers) from our AAA office last March (didn't activate them until this past November). We didn't pay a delivery fee, however, we did have to pay Tennessee's state sales tax and our local sales tax (9.25%), which ate some savings for us compared to the 6.5% sales tax if you order from Disney directly. With that said, even with paying 9.25% in taxes, it was still a little cheaper than through Disney. If you're in a AAA South area with cheaper sales tax, it will be more of a savings.

I looked on my AAA site and yes, you can only get the AP discount thru the South AAA site. Same is true for my company's discount page.

But I saw someone saying you can get it in person. If my uncle in FL goes to the AAA in person should he be able to get my pass?

Tough question but does anyone know for sure?

He would need FL ID to get the voucher, but not sure if you need it to redeem it.

I'm not sure what you are asking, so I'll just answer "in general."

If you are not a FL resident, you can't use a FL resident AP no matter who buys it.

If you are not a FL resident, you can buy a regular AP at the AAA discounted price for a non-FL resident AP.

As to who can pick up those tickets, I have no idea if they can be picked up by someone who is not a AAA Travel user or not.

Give the AAA Travel office in question a call.

Anytime you have a voucher for FL resident tickets, AP, etc., you have to show your FL proof of residence when exchanging the voucher at Guest Relations in the park. If you are not a FL resident you cannot use ticket media intended for FL residents. It does not matter if it was purchased by a FL resident, because you (ticket user) have to prove your residency.

We were in the same position and were wanting annual passes. I did a comparison with the WDW, AAA and UT prices using price bridging with the UT and the UT price ended up beating the AAA price.

Just check it out. :)

I was not aware that UT offered an Annual Pass. (Not even thru Mousesavers newsletter)

I have done a little research and was advised by a CM that unlike military or cast member tickets, you do not have to show AAA id when you activate your APs much like purchasing your tickets thru the Disney Store. (FYI - my purchase would be thru AAA South since my Dad and I live in GA)
