I don't know if this is the board where I would ask this question... but here goes.

We just bought at SSR and will be visiting WDW about once a year, prob. in Dec. I read on Mousesavers.com that if one is going for 8 days or more, to look into getting an annual pass because you will save a bit. And if we go the following year a week or 2 earlier, we will be able to utilize the pass for 2 visits of 10 days.

My husband and I have always done the UPH and love that everything is on our room key and love that we can go to PI, DQ, BB, or any park we want and even switch parks throughout the day so the UPH has been wonderful for us.

The question... Would it be cheaper and better to go w/ the annual pass? Or should we stay w/ the UPH? Or should we look into the Park Hopper Plus and save the tickets each year? I don't want something too confusing. And would I buy an AP at the counter when I check in? Please advise me on this issue because I will be making my first reservation Jan 1st.

Thank you all in advance for your advise on this matter.

I'm bumping this because I want to know, too! You might want to post this question in the DVC forum. I think there may be other posts like this one all ready on the DVC forum.

My DH and I joined DVC on our last trip and we have the same question. We love DQ and PI and having an all inclusive ticket is nice. I'm not sure I would remember to keep old tickets with days still on them, and if I got AP's but wasn't able to go back in a year I would feel bad that I got them!

I hope you find help with this, and WELCOME HOME, NEIGHBOR!

We only use annual passes. Mainly because we usually only do the major parks. If we decide to do PI on our visits, we buy an annual for that too.
You do receive a 10% discount on UPH at check in.
You cannot purchase annual passes at the resorts.
This site should help with any questions you have. http://allearsnet.com/pl/apass.htm

I too have have just bought at OKW. I agonized over tickets as well. I decided not to chance two trips a year and stuck with buying a 7-day Park Hopper Plus 4 and a 3-day Universal Escape pass. These never expire. We are making our first trip to OKW in 13 days. We will only be using 5 full days worth of tickets, so there will be plenty of tickets left over for the next trip, whenever that may be. I have seen many different vendors posted on this sight. We used http://www.floridavacationservices.com. They are a member of the BBBOnline program and seem reasonable in price.

James

Thank you all for your insight. I will also pose the question over at the DVC Board. I was afraid they would move me to another board because it was a bit off topic, but I'll try. It can't hurt. I heard that the Park Hoppers get cheaper the more days you buy, so James may have made the best deal out there. Each ticket is a good deal for someone..... it's just so hard to figure out what works best for your particular family. And Gail.... I love All Ears! It gave me so much valuable info. I will research it some more on that site. I appreciate all your time.
