Annual Pass trade in???

We purchased an annual pass a couple of years ago, and we still have the voucher. We've never used it because except for the first year of DVC ownership, we haven't gone enough to warrant getting the pass. Could we somehow trade it in for a 10-day no expiration park hopper?

You can trade it in at customer service in DTD or at the gate window. You'll pay the difference between the value of the voucher and the non-exp pass.

The way I understand it, if you trade in the voucher, you will receive credit for what the voucher originally cost, not the current value.

Please, someone correct me if I have wrong info.
