Annual Pass Silver to Pixie dilemma

My husband still has a silver pass, so he's blocked for summer. It expires in October. We have 2 trips planned with grandkids for the summer, one flying here in early June, and 2 others in late July. Disney won't let me switch it to the pixie dust pass when I called. (It's weekday only, and with a lot of block out dates, seems like a downgrade from the silver). It seems more cost effective to throw away the silver pass and buy him a new pixie dust pass. Just isn't sitting well with me. Just wondering if you have any thoughts on it. Wonder if I drive there and ask guest services in person if that could help. Either that, or I'll take them by myself when they visit (they're all teens) and my husband said he will stay at the resort while we go to the parks, or stay home. Or... we'll all not go to Disney and do something else.. decisions decisions!

I have always had the best luck with the CMs at the IG at Epcot. Maybe you and your husband can take a trip over and they will allow you to pay to upgrade his pass-leaving his expiration the same.

Good Luck, OP :)

They'll let you change it at renewal. You can try in-person but I don't think they'll allow a "downgrade" mid-year.
I think you're correct. I have never been able to downgrade my pass. I have been able to upgrade it.
