Forgive me if this question has been asked a million times... How can I renew my AP and get the 15mos for the price of 12? I can't find it on the Disney link for passholders. It does have the option to renew online, however, there's not mention of that promotion. I just don't want to miss out on that deal. Our passes expire one day before our trip ends in Oct.:scared1: Thanks in advance for any info you all provide!

I did this a few weeks ago. I called the ticket number for Disney, and had to speak with 4 people before I found someone who could help me. I wanted to renew our DVC passes, which expire on Sept 11, and take advantage of the 15 month promotion. I was within the 60 day renewal window. I paid for the vouchers over the phone, and about a week later they arrived in the mail. Along with the vouchers was a letter stating they would be valid for 15 months. I am not able to physically renew the passes in the parks until Sept 17th, so I hope we get the 15 months. The best CM that I spoke with said that as long as you purchased the renewal vouchers by August 30th, you would get the 15 months - I will know for sure in a few weeks.

Thanks so much for the info. I started to go through the renewal process online but, since there was no mention of the promotion, I decided not to, fearing I would miss out. I will call MS first thing in the morning to renew. Hopefully I'll be able to get it worked out! Thanks again and have a great trip!

According to Cheshire Figment (see Post #19) http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1452684&page=2

19A. 15 Month Annual Pass for the price of 12 months.

This is a promotion for renewal of current Premium Annual, Annual, and Florida Resident Seasonal Passes that is valid through August 31, 2010. If you have any current PAP, AP or SP and you renew the pass within 30 days of expiration and not later than August 31, the replacement Pass will be valid for 15 months instead of 12 months.

Note that, by definition, a renewal may only take place at a WDW ticket window or GRO. If the actual date of issue of the live ticket is after August 31, even if you have purchased a renewal voucher/certificate by mail, phone or online by that date, you will only get a 12 month extension.

So unless they decide to extend the promotion :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Well, I just got off the phone with MS and was told the promo was for only 30 days post or prior to expiration...no luck for me. I'm about 50 days out. Ironically, he didn't say anything about having to be there in person to renew.:confused3 I wish there was a little more consistency in what we hear from MS. All three of us got varying information.

It's always been my understanding that in order to qualify for a renewal rate, the window was 30 +/- your anniversary date. I know the passholder website now says -60/+30 but I don't understand why they would change it? You would think if they were going to change it they would make it -30/+60 to entice people who intended to have let theirs lapse go ahead & renew after all but what do I know?

Yes, it is frustrating that the training/info isn't consistent but, when it comes to ticket questions, I will always go with the answer I get from a Ticketing cm over a MS cm or CRO cm. After all, it's what they do every day. The other cm's are just repeating back what they've been told or reading from an SOP so I can't really blame them I just don't take what they say as gospel.

Hi everyone,

I've been trying to research this promotion for awhile and obviously I just read through this thread and am still so confused. Apparently to take advantage of the 15 for 12 deal, you have to be within 30 days after your pass expiring, but you have to have some sort of voucher? How does the voucher work? It can only be used at a park window and not after your 30 days has passed?

Sorry if my questions are pointless and confusing, but I just want to be clear on how to obtain the promotion so that I don't miss out.

TIA!

Edited to add: Sorry I posted this in the wrong place! I just realized this thread was in the DVC section and in regards to DVC members most likely. My apologies, but if anyone does know the answer to my questions it'd be greatly appreciated.

I am going to apologize in advance but I am I need to make this about me me me. :worship:

I have 2 DVC season tickets that expire September 27. If I am reading this right and I believe the phone CM who tells me what I want to hear.....I should be able to renew them over the phone on August 27 and get them for 15 months????

OR

Can I call today and do that?
Should I call DVC or a different number when I renew?

This is our first time with season passes and we are going again in Oct. so we need to renew. Thanks for the help.

OK, let me try to help as much as I can...

First, the basic AP/AP voucher info.

1). Only WDW Guest Services will issue an active AP.

1). Whenever you pay for an AP anywhere other than at WDW you are issued a voucher. You then need to take that voucher to a Guest Services window where they will issue the actual AP with that day's date. This is now your anniversary date.

2). In order to qualify for the renewal pricing, you must renew the pass within 30 days +/- of your current anniversary date. ***The passholder website now allows for renewal 60 days before or 30 days after.

3). If you process yor renwal on-line you will be mailed a voucher that you still need to take to Guest Services to get your actual pass. On a renewal, the anniversary date stays the same. Ex. Your anniversary is 8/22. You will be in the parks 10/1 so you renew online by 9/22 (otherwise you'd go past the +30 days). On 10/1 the new ticket you receive at Guest Services will still have an expiration date of 8/22.

Now, as for the 15 month promo:

Around this time last year (IIRC) WDW announced that, for a limited time, AP renewals for existing passholders would be valid for 15 months instead of 12. The August 31 promo expiration was/is to ensure that everyone who had an AP at the time the promo was announced could qualify for the 15 months.

So, if you already renewed your pass this year you have already received the 15 months. For example, our previous anniversary date was August 15. We renewed our AP's in person on August 26, 2009. When we renewed, our anniversary dated changed to November 15, 2010. Now, the earlist I could renew again would be September 15 (60 days prior). They did this for a reason (IMO).

Now, I know there are conflicting reports as to whether you have to physically redeem a voucher in person by 8/31 or simply pay for the renewal. I trust Cheshire Figment's account that it must be done in person but I really don't understand why since the new anniversary date would be fixed (based on the original), regardless of when the voucher is redeemed.

We renewed ours in person shortly after the promo began so unfortunately I can't share a personal experience. Hopefully others will post who have personal experience not just going off what MS/CRO says.

Hope I didn't confuse things more :)

Minnie Girl, thank you so much for the information. I'm still unsure and guess I'll just renew on the website. I'm heartbroken that it's an in person thing. I was just down there for a week 3 weeks ago and could have easily done it. The only reason I didn't renew then was because money was going towards souveneirs and not an AP since I assumed the deal could just be gotten online.
Anyway enough of my lifestory :rotfl:
Thanks for the info!

You are very welcome.

I understand the disappointment. While I don't think I will ever doubt Cheshire Figment's details I just don't understand why it has to be done in person since the expiration date on a renewal is a fixed date that's tied to the existing pass. The only thing that makes any sense to me is that they are trying to make it so we can only take advantage the 15 months once and/or they calculated the "expense" based on the existing AP membership at the time the promo was launched. :confused3

If you do renew online & it suddenly says your new expiration date is 15 months out let us know :goodvibes

Okay, clarification to see if I get this. My AP expires 10/29. Can I call and renew by 8/29 (-60 days), get the voucher in the mail, and turn that in when I'm down at WDW in October? And then the NEW expiration date would be 1/29/2012 (15 months after my current expiration)?

I'd like to know this also.

I would also like to know, but I fear the answer. Our passes expire 10/09/10 and if I understand Minnie's post from the top, that is past the Aug 31 promotion period. If I could renew online at 60 days before expiration and qualify for the 15 month renewal that would be great but not sure that is within the scope of the promotion.

I was in Orlando for business this weekend and I decided to check this out in person. I went to the TTS to inquire about the AP renewal and was told that annual passes could only be renewed 30 days before or 30 days after expiration. Period. I was unable to renew my AP since it was more than 30 days til mine expires (it's only 47 days!). Since I have tried twice, once with DVC MS and the other at DW in person, I have conceded.:sad1: Bummed out, but at least this issue is settled for me. For those of you who were able to renew online and get vouchers, I'm sending pixie dust your way in hopes that you get the 15 for 12 deal.pixiedust:

My old AP had an expiration at the end of April, 2010. I renewed it March March 22, 2010 and the new one expires July 30, 2011. I renewed mine at the Guest Services at Downtown Disney. I'm not sure why some locations will let you renew early and others won't. But I personally have done it.
