Annual pass renewal question

My current annual pass expires October 24, but I did already renew it online. I know the new one will be effective as soon as the old one isn’t. I will be in WDW Oct 9-15. Am I able to go get my new card during this time, or do I need to wait until after the original card actually expires?

From what I understand, people with the old card have been exchanging them for the new one even while the old one is active with no problem. Guest Services either inside or outside of each park or in Disney Springs can help you with that.

Online renewals automatically activate. Renewals by phone would required activation before use.

For any folks out there who have renewed their APs since the sales were put on hold, has there been a change to how far in advance you can actually renew? I thought I heard they're allowing renewals more than 60 days in advance, but have not seen that confirmed. Thanks.

I think some have had luck, but my son and I were in the parks five days before our 60-day window last June and they would not us renew early. There was an issue with my son’s due to a screw-up by Disney IT (admitted to by them) that made it so his had to be renewed in person, and they still would not allow me to renew only his. I was just a little miffed, to say the least, especially since I had been hearing stories of people getting them renewed a few months in advance in order to get park reservations. I realize this was before the hold, but I can’t imagine they have become more lenient.

Thank you. It's not a critical thing for us, but just wondering what folks are seeing. Ours expire the end of April, and we will renew. But since February is often a time for price hikes, thought it might be nice if they'd allow renewal before the end of Feb. If not, we'll see what renewals are like in March when we're in the 60-day window. Appreciate the personal experience, and sorry it was such an aggravation for you. Funny how those mix-ups by Disney can come back later sometimes to be another headache later. We have one of those, also, and it's on-going yet.

We were not able to renew prior to the usual 60 days. Considering it's automatic in MDE it was no link there at 61 days and link there at 60

We tried to renew at 75 days out, as we were trying to get park reservations when that process started. People without APs were able to get park reservations way out, we weren't, and that deemed to unfairly penalize AP holders.

We pressed the case as far up as we could without success. They stuck firm to 60 days.

Yet another thing they need to fix regarding AP and Pass Reservations.
If you have a resort stay and have a mixed party (AP and tickets) you need to be able to book from the same pool of park reservations. Having a resort stay should override everything. As it is now, you have to book separate and it can mean you can't get the same park in select cases. That's just ridiculous

I agree. The case I tried to make was that AP holders were being penalized over day guests. No movement.

If you have an AP and are staying at a resort you can book from either bucket, the resort bucket, or the AP bucket. I know this for a certainty as I have a february trip coming up at Bay Lake Tower and was able to make park reservations either as a resort guest (which dont’ count against my 5), or as an AP holder.

Never said you couldn't. Besides, that's not what I'm talking about at all.
The resort pool for AP and resort pool for ticket holders is different pools
You can't book at the same time, from the same pool, as someone with tickets even if they are your same resort reservation.
